Waterproof Case for Roland AX-Edge Keytar

This is a great case for ultimate protection for my Roland AX Edge. Being that my AX Edge Keytar is funniest instruments I've ever owned, I wanted to make sure that it is protected when I travel with my band. With this case, I don't ever have to worry about my Keytar when it's traveling in our Band's trailer bouncing around or equipment shifting, etc. The one thing that sticks out about this particular case is it is air tight and water proof. Right after getting my case, we had a gig where we setup for an outside wedding reception, and unexpectedly and without forecast, we had a rain storm to come through. We were scrounging to move our equipment to get it into safety. Well I was able to put my Keytar in the case and not worry about it getting even the least little wet. It bought me time to help get my other gear to safety and not have to even worry about my Keytar getting wet.

So immediately the case was put to the test and it passed with flying colors. This convinced me that I also needed one of this SKB cases for my Nord Stage 3. I have now ordered one for my Nord. Yes, these cases are expensive, but if you have invested in great instruments like I have, then it's worth protecting your investment.

I was not disappointed. Now I want to put ALL my stuff in SKB rifle cases!

If you ever need to send your AX-Edge into space, this case could do the job.

Everything I needed, heavier than the keytar itself but sturdy and secure. It was the only hard ase designed for the keytar I could find, and it is well made, has wheels and easy to use.

I've owned both the AX-Edge and this case for over a year now and it works exactly as advertised, which is to say at high quality standards.

If you want to protect your AX-Edge you honestly don't have much of a choice beyond this particular case. I looked hard for possible dedicated alternatives to make sure I was getting the best value for my money, and the closest I could find was that apparently Roland itself once offered a dedicated gig bag for the AX-Edge. Last I checked that was discontinued, so really SKB have the market a bit cornered on this one. Thankfully it's held up wonderfully for all the abuse I've put it through on the road - walks, drops, scuffs, etc. I've never once worried about my AX getting damaged, and it's held up better than the gig bag that I use for my FA-08 in the year of owning that. Definitely the correct choice for protecting your baby/investment... just kind of wish it wasn't the only choice but that's a major nitpick on my part. haha

After 1 year the wheels still spin smoothly, all the latches work, any cosmetic scratches haven't compromised case integrity at all, shoot even the inside of the case still smells "new" after all this time. The compartment works well for my strap, wireless packs (both for the keytar and a headset mic), spare cables and batteries, anything that'll fit in there. Overall it's made a great first impression of SKB cases in general so they'll likely be my go-to from here on out for my 88-key travel needs, and since I play with two boards onstage this matters a lot. In short this is a solid case (ha, puns!) of getting what you pay for, so in terms of quality you're in good hands here.

I'll be honest, I was not expecting this case to be as fortified and heavy as it is. I was expecting it to be similar in weight to what a Fender Deluxe guitar case would be. There are wheels on this bad boy for a reason. There are so many built in locks and holes for more locks one could use this to carry around big amounts of cash and feel secure. And as others have mentioned the Keytar upper bed point doesn't fit in the foam. But as they also said, it does shut fine and is still useful.

Overall the case is nice but I wish it wasn't so heavy. It's really overkill in my opinion. It definitely gets the job done, though.
