Compact 12-fret Taylor with V-Class Bracing

A Grand Concert body, short-scale neck give the 322e its signature Taylor playability and unique sound at a reduced size. Paired with full mahogany construction, the 322e delivers a rich, open sound with punch, warmth, and a slow bloom that fingerstylists and delicate strummers are sure to appreciate. The 322e comes loaded with advanced V-class bracing for exceptional projection and volume, even for a small-bodied guitar. Plus, the Taylor Expression System 2 electronics capture all the nuances of your playing when you’re plugged in onstage or tracking in the studio. Delve into the sweet sounds of a full-mahogany compact guitar with a new Taylor 322e today!

Full mahogany construction

The 322e’s all-mahogany construction adds richness and warmth to classic Taylor tone. Sweetwater guitarists find the 322e has a slightly darker more vintage sound than a typical spruce top Taylor guitar. It still delivers the signature treble sparkle that Taylors are known for but with additional midrange punch of mahogany that’s enhanced through V-class bracing.

12-fret Grand Concert body style

For fingerstyle and tracking, Sweetwater’s guitar gurus favor Taylor’s Grand Concert body style, which gives you clarity and balanced tone that lends itself to layering with other instruments in thicker arrangements where a larger-bodied acoustic would take up too much space. The 322e’s 12-fret neck join gives this instrument an easy, relaxed handfeel, while the shifted bridge location dials up midrange assertiveness. This guitar’s smaller Grand Concert body and tapered waist not only make it a great studio and stage guitar, but its short scale and lighter string tension also make it easier to play — perfect for younger players with small hands. It also makes for a more efficient design, in that the smaller body is inherently stronger, which enables it to be more lightly braced, making it easier to set the strings in motion.

Taylor ES2 electronics deliver natural and dynamic amplified sound

Need to plug in? Then you’re going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 electronics built into the 322e! The ES2 system features a revolutionary segmented pickup located behind the bridge saddle; this pickup position delivers remarkably accurate and clear sound production that’s authentic to your playing. Each ES2 system features a handy master volume knob for fast level adjustments, in addition to a 2-band EQ for independent treble/bass adjustments to get the sound you need. Plus, the ES2 system also has a built-in phase switch, which offers essential feedback suppression whenever the system is active.

V-Class bracing: a sonic revelation

Bracing supports each and every acoustic guitar’s interior, and, though it's almost invisible, bracing shapes guitar acoustics in a big way! X-shape bracing was standard on acoustics for over a century, but Taylor’s revolutionary V-bracing is able to tease more volume and sustain out of a guitar’s sound chamber. V-bracing allows wooden acoustic tops to vibrate with more richness, projection, and sustain with more space inside the sound chamber for note maturation. And if that wasn’t enough, this groundbreaking innovation also improves intonation and adds more overtones — those subtle harmonic eccentricities that add sparkle to top-of-the-line acoustic guitars like the 322e.

Taylor 322e 12-fret Grand Concert V-Class Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Solid mahogany top, back and sides with a satin finish

Great for Old Hands

I absolutely love this 12-fret. I have been tuning my other guitars down a full step and putting a capo on the 2nd fret, so my old hands can play a little easier. This guitar does that for me. And the size, tone, and looks of this guitar make it a joy to play.

Phenomenal little guitar

I purchased this guitar from SW recently and can't express how impressed I am. Like most Taylors the workmanship and overall quality is top notch! The 12 fret neck and fingerboard is a dream for a fingerstyle player like myself. It's super light and easy to handle due to it's small footprint. The volume is very good for a OO or Grand Concert sized guitar. The all Mahogany construction makes for a very warm and pleasing sound!

My salesman Austin Childress did a great job making things workout so well. I'm glad I picked one up recently, because they just went up $.
