Transient Express
At Sweetwater, we love the BAE 312A 500 Series mic preamp/DI on drums and percussion. To let transients pass unimpeded, BAE omitted capacitors from the audio path for a fast, punchy sound beefed up by premium components like Jensen input and output transformers and Avedis 1122 op-amps. Plug a bass into the 312A's high-impedance direct input, and magic happens. We're talking fat, round, and authoritative. You also get great DI results with synth and guitar. The top panel is simplicity itself: instrument jack, pad, polarity reverse, 48V phantom power, and gain pot. If you like your sounds fast and punchy, check out the BAE 312A.
