The Legendary Silver Jubilee Tube Amp Returns!

In 1987, Marshall celebrated 25 years of amp building with their original Silver Jubilee series, catching the attention of guitarists, including the up-and-coming Slash, then disappearing just a year later. This 2555X Silver Jubilee reissue brings back Marshall's highly coveted 2-channel, 100-watt tube amp head with all the vibe and look of the original plus a smattering of cool improvements. Like its predecessors, the 2555X includes high- and low-output switching. If you've ever heard a 100-watt Marshall at full roar, then you'll appreciate how this feature lets the 2555X sing at both arena and club levels. This edition also gives you even lower noise performance and improved reliability.

Add the perfect cab to your Sliver Jubilee amp

Whether you've been chasing down a Silver Jubilee amp for years or just want to satisfy your craving for genuine Marshall tone at its best, you'll love this 2555X Silver Jubilee reissue amplifier head. Multiple speaker jacks let you easily match this head up with your favorite cabinet, and it plays well with a wide range of cabinets. Of course, if you're a purist, then you'll want to grab a matching cab or two to go with your 2555X. Lucky for you, Sweetwater also carries the slanted 2551AV and the straight 2551BV extension cabinets, which come decked out in silver vinyl.

87 Reissue

I purchased the original SA Marshall new in 87. Always regretted selling it. The reissue is no disappointment. Straight forward hot rodded amp. Clean channel is super warm along with classic gain sounds. My salesman Andy Rice is very knowledgeable and down to earth. I highly recommend him.

Nothing Beats a Marshall!

Great amp! I was looking for a Marshall to take the place of my vintage 2204s to take on the road. It sounds fantastic. In low power mode it easily does smaller club gigs without a problem. My 2204 is impossible to use at most of the bars and clubs we play, it's too damn loud!

It is super versatile as well. I've done classic/southern rock gigs, as well as, straight up 80s hard rock (VH, Guns, Maiden, etc).

The cleans and low gain tones are equally great.

The only drawback it's pretty damn heavy.
Music background: Gigging guitarist

Holy Tone Stack!

I bought this amp to complete my Marshall collection. Wish I didn't wait to get this. I'm a plexi guy but have been missing out. This is the most flexible Marshall I've ever used. The sweep of the tone knobs change the amp dramatically. Everywhere on the dials is great from 0-10! I've never used such an active tone stacks. Especially in a Marshall. Both channels go from clean to rip, Pull the rhythm clip and now you have even more amp. change the tone knobs and the amp changes again. So Many sounds all great! As a bonus, the low output switch is perfect and it eats any pedal you want to use to push it for lunch. If you're looking for a 100 watt head and don't want to spend the 3-4k on a Friedman or others, this amp wont disappoint. The Sweetwater black tolex ( which is what I got) looks absolutely killer!. Just Buy It!

Awesome Amp!

My Marshall Silver Jubilee arrived a week ago & I can't stop playing it! Nice well rounded tone with a good amount of headroom. I own a JCM 800 as well. This is a beast like the 800 but with a slightly darker sound. Play around around with the knobs and you'll realize it's quite versatile in sound. A big thanks to Sweetwater sales rep. Joey Bartoli for assisting me in my purchase! Gotta run cause I'm going back to the band room to crank up the Jubilee!!

Another Great in the Jubilee series

The 2555x is a fantastic reissue of the original 1987 2555. I own 5 original 2555's, 2 silver 3 black and I can tell you they are a 90% exact match to the original, I would say they tend to be a little brighter and more compressed at times but hardly enough to care and the louder it gets the better it sounds of course! If you can handle about 10% difference and several thousand dollars less, this is your shot at the icon we all know.

There are countless "British"-style guitar amplifiers out there, but take it from the lifelong guitarists and tone connoisseurs at Sweetwater, when it comes to Marshall tone, there's nothing like the real thing. We've played them all, from vintage JTM45s and the ultra-cool Plexi reissue to modern handmade masterpieces such as the JVM410. There isn't a model among them we can't recommend with total confidence, and that includes their more affordable models too, like MG, DSL, and Code series amps. Thanks to our tight relationship with Marshall, Sweetwater's always on the cutting edge of their latest designs, custom models, and limited-edition gems. If you want iconic tone from across the pond, you want Marshall, and your Sweetwater Sales Engineer will help you find the perfect one.
