The MOTU Story
Sweetwater and MOTU go way back — we've been partners since the beginning. Back then, you'd have been hard-pressed to find a MIDI-based studio without MOTU hardware, and their Performer software was one of the hottest computer sequencers around. When their 2408 recording system dropped in the 1990s, studios all over the world couldn't wait to take advantage of its incredible price-to-performance value. Around the turn of the century, MOTU ushered in a new era in desktop recording with their 828, the world's first FireWire audio interface; and their MachFive software sampler provided compatibility with nearly every sample library on the planet.
Today, MOTU is still going strong. They have a full line of great-sounding state-of-the-art audio interfaces, and their Digital Performer DAW software remains incredibly popular with musicians, composers, and producers everywhere. On top of that, the rest of the MOTU software line provides an array of sound options to help you make better music.
So why has Sweetwater partnered with MOTU for so long? That's easy — it's because MOTU shares our values: high-quality products, strong customer relations, and top-level support.
