Vintage-inspired Channel Strip with Modern Features
Looking for an all-in-one analog solution for your recording and mixing needs? If so, then we strongly suggest checking out the Drawmer 1977 Channel Strip. This comprehensive channel strip features every classic signal flow processor, including a transparent preamp with mic and line inputs, a parametric EQ with variable bandwidth, a vintage-style compressor with a rear panel sidechain insert point, and a saturation module with three different types of variable saturation. The EQ and compressor units can be swapped or completely bypassed, and what has really impressed Sweetwater studio engineers is that the Drawmer 1977 has a dry/wet mix knob for parallel EQ and compression! Finally, the Drawmer 1977 features a backlit true analog VU meter with a switchable +10dB Rescale mode. The Drawmer 1977 Channel Strip is a modern take on vintage analog recording gear that’s sure to take your recording and mixing to the next level.
Start with a clean preamp
The Drawmer 1977 channel strip features a THAT Corporation mic preamp which provides 66dB of clean gain in +/- 6dB steps, phantom power, and switchable mic impedance. There are also separate line and mic input XLRs plus an instrument DI input with through output. For the ultimate clean signal, the Drawmer 1977 also has a dedicated XLR direct preamp output, plus an XLR for the overall output on its rear panel. Finally, the preamp section features a variable highpass filter knob and phase reverse switch for cleaning up your low end.
Full parametric EQ
The Drawmer 1977 has an onboard fully parametric 3-band EQ module with +/- 12dB boosts and cuts at various selectable frequencies, plus shapable bandwidths. It also features switchable slopes that enable you to accent the high and low end of your signals. The EQ module and the Compressor module can either be bypassed entirely, or they can swapped depending on your preferred signal flow order.
Colorful compression
The compressor module on the Drawmer 1977 has all the standard compressor controls, as well as two unique controls known as “Big” and “Air.” These let you retain your signals’ very low and high frequency information, respectively. Big and Air allow you to add extra oomph to your low end or open up the top end for extra shimmer and crispness. The rear panel also has a sidechain insert point for even more control over your compression.
Three types of musical saturation
Next to the Drawmer 1977’s compressor module is the saturator. This unit features three different types of musical saturation, depending on the amount of vintage warmth that you’re after. Choose from Clean, Warm, and Overdriven types, and then easily use the Level knob to dial in the right amount of mojo.
