Not sure about this one
This looks exactly like the 5mm Allen wrench that came with my Home Depot tool set. Without any more specialized took=l, that's the one I used today to loosen the rod on my HD-28. It's a fine wrench, with a ball end that will help avoid scratching the inside of the nut on the rod. But the short end is barely an inch long, making it shaky to use inside the sound hole. I suppose if you have all the strings off you can keep ahold of it, but with strings on (the typical arrangement), I just didn't like the lack of stability. I'm surprised Martin would put its brand on this.

I like the look of other wrenches that have longer short ends, and larger grips for greater security. They don't seem to cost appreciably more than this. I'm looking at the Music Nomad one, also available here at Sweetwater. If it looks best, I'll go with it.
Music background: 45-year guitar owner; player since 1966. Fledgling truss-rod adjuster.
