The 110ce Sapele Dreadnought Has It All Figured Out

Available at Sweetwater in limited supply, the Taylor 110ce acoustic-electric guitar is an excellent choice if you're looking for a powerful 100 Series workhorse in the dreadnought vein. Guitarists at Sweetwater love the way the 110ce adds modern Taylor voicing to the familiar power and versatility of a dreadnought body shape. The 110ce features a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides, a pairing that whips up rich tone, resonance, and projection from the first strum. A smooth hard-rock maple neck helps you glide in style across the frets with ease. When performance time strikes, onboard ES2 electronics ensure that you'll sound your best. Rounded out by a Venetian cutaway and delicate binding, the Taylor 110ce is your ticket to dreadnought satisfaction at an irresistible price!

Note: This guitar will ship with either a crelicam ebony or eucalyptus fingerboard, subject to availability from Taylor. Please call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer with any questions.

Sitka spruce primed with sapele

The 110ce’s high-quality tonewood selections equip you with all the benefits of a classic dreadnought: punchy projection, wide dynamic range, and the ability to blend into countless styles. The 110ce features a time-proven solid Sitka spruce as its top, which keeps projection robust while enriching highs. What’s more, the Sitka top has been roasted, a process that not only removes moisture but also enhances looks and performance. Rounding out the Taylor 110ce is sapele back and sides. A mahogany-like tonewood, sapele vibrates with lasting sustain and rich musicality that’s instantly pleasing to the ear.

Modified dreadnought shape

The powerful voice and unrivaled projection of the traditional dreadnought body style have made it the choice of strummers and flatpickers throughout history. The naturally deep lows, crisp highs, and open, airy midrange of Taylor's dreadnought body help to balance the 110ce's tone across the full sonic spectrum. With the integration of a Venetian cutaway, the 110ce provides enhanced access to all 20 frets without subtracting from the guitar's traditional, bold projection.

Taylor's Expression System 2

Taylor's Expression System 2 uses a proprietary pickup behind the saddle. The pickup's three individually calibrated, precisely positioned piezo-electric sensors respond organically to the instrument's acoustic energy as it's transferred through the saddle. In concert with Taylor's custom-designed preamp, the result is a natural acoustic sound with incredible dynamic range and responsiveness to your pick or finger attack. Whether onstage through a PA, plugged into an acoustic amp, or direct into recording software, Sweetwater guitarists are impressed with Taylor's Expression System 2.

Taylor 110ce Features:

  • Limited quantity acoustic-electric with a distinct tone
  • Torrefied spruce top provides a lively and up front energy
  • Dreadnought shape delivers excellent volume and projection
  • C-Class bracing improves projection, sustain, and bass response

Reviews

Taylor 110ce

Beautiful guitar, I was a little apprehensive about it being made in Mexico but after trying one out , my fears were unfounded. It feels great and sounds amazing. I prefer it over my Martin dcme for playability. Sweetwater had the best price and free shipping and the 55 point check is a bonus. Their staff is absolutely the best in customer service. It even arrived two days early.

Music background: 50 yrs of playing guitar.
