Compact 50-watt Guitar Head with Reverb

Fifty watts of house-filling, American-voiced Class D muscle await you in the featherweight Quilter Labs 101 Mini Reverb head — a standalone performance solution that weighs in at just 2 lbs. From the subway and plane to the stage and studio, the 101 Mini Reverb is always there to lend you its sugar, spice, and pedal-flattering high headroom, anywhere on the planet. A Full-Q base tone with versatile Gain and Limiter controls takes your 101 Mini Reverb from crystalline cleans to percussive crunch and into smooth, sailing leads. Meanwhile, a 3-band hybrid EQ section, which pairs traditional amp tone stacks with a fast-dialing active Mid band, gives the 101 Mini Reverb a wide stake in diverse musical territories. There’s even onboard spring-styled digital reverb for comprehensive gigging convenience. Modern performance and practice features include a pedal FX loop and a 1/4" headphone output.

Lightweight and compact

At just 2 lbs., the 101 Mini Reverb is so light you’d swear Quilter forgot to load the guts in. But as with most things in the audio world, looks can be deceiving. With 50 real watts of precision output, an ear-tuned hybrid active/passive 3-band EQ section, and a lush digital reverb residing within this desk-reference-size guitar amp, any true tube fanatic can’t help but smile. There’s also an FX loop and headphone output right on the front panel for easy access. Even sweeter, you can load the Quilter 101 Mini Reverb into its own cabinet (sold separately) to create a modular combo that de-cabs at will. Just ask guitarists at Sweetwater: If you’re looking for a high performance-to-size ratio, they’ll tell you it’s hard to top the Quilter 101 Reverb.

The Quilter 101 Mini Reverb loads into its own cab as easily as this Tone Block 201 fits into the Frontliner 2x8W.

Full-Q base tone

The 101 Mini Reverb boasts the same vintage-inspired base tone, called Full-Q, as Quilter’s flagship Aviator amp. We feel this voicing best resembles a Blackface ’60s American combo, with sparkling cleans, a sweet top end, and a throaty breakup in the low registers. Yet unlike the classics, the 101 Mini Reverb has loads of drive on tap and even a limiter, which act in series to enact a wide range of crunch, sag, and compression.

3-band hybrid EQ

Quilter threw out the playbook with its 101 Mini Reverb’s 3-band EQ section. While its Bass and Treble sections pretty closely resemble traditional guitar amplifier passive tone stacks, its active midrange control is voiced to activate a range of highly coveted tonal textures. Reducing the mids scoops the tone in a hurry, which is perfect for SRV-type single-coil tones and more contemporary chordal voicings. Cranking the midrange enhances the 101 Mini Reverb’s American-voiced presence and cut, which is perfect for boosting leads to the front of a mix.

Onboard spring-style reverb

Onboard digital reverb makes the 101 Mini Reverb a self-contained performance platform unto itself. This reverb is voiced to sound like classic spring tanks from your favorite combo amps, able to deliver a versatile range, dry to drenched, that’s free from the weight and instability of true mechanical units.

The 101 Mini Reverb: brainchild of Pat Quilter

Pat Quilter — the “Q” behind QSC pro audio speakers — has enjoyed a long and storied career in the audio industry. With his Quilter Labs guitar amps, Pat is turning the market on its head — literally! Pat’s solid-state amp designs and robust, compact guitar cabs deliver gigging convenience and tonal purity to a new generation of guitar players.

It's Not The Size of the Dog in the Fight
It's the size of the fight in the dog.
A. As damaged as my ears may be, the vibe from a well lit speaker still turns me on and makes me play better.
My Marshall does it for me. But it let me down once. Stranded.
I needed something solid state I could just fix that in a few seconds. But.. there's always a but...
There are many good ones out there to choose from in 2021.
However, you'll search a long time before you'll beat this one.
It has rental clean warm tone for days on its own, let alone how much it appreciates your pedals.
In the size of a pedal board.
It's a pretty rockin machine regardless of size.
Music background: Raised on roots, gospel, folk, been a rocker since i heard an electric guitar in person in 1962. Everything classic rock old blues Texas blues
VERY VERY CLEAN AMP.
Mr. Quilter got it right on. This is probably the cleanest sounding amp head I have ever heard. All controls are great, plus the Gain and Master ie(power) knobs are smooth as glass. I set her up to run clean. You can get some OD break up if you want but chose to run her clean. I have a VT 999 OD pedal set up clean in front of the Quilter 101R. Just get one for your self and see. Some serious Kraft-man-ship on the Quilter 101R. Jacob and the team get it here unharmed. Oh Jacob, Here are a couple of pics of my full homemade stack that I made. All maple cabs with older eminense legends 75 watts each. Thanks Guys.
Music background: 25+ years playing and giging a little. Playing, Country, Blues, and some older Light Rock.
Great little amp head for practice or live performance!
I bought this amp to provide a solid state backup to my tube amp compliment. I found that i love the sound of this amp, especially when i'm looking for glassy cleans, and it has become my go-to amp for that application. Super light, 50 Watts of powerful sound, and lots of tonal capabilities. Also very reliable.
Music background: Personal Studio Musician
amazing for jazz
I use this with a closed-back 10" cab and it is just perfect for jazz. I couldn't be happier
Perfect for clean jazz
I've been playing this since it arrived this morning, dumbstruck that such a small and affordable solid state head can sound so much like a boutique tube amp. Perfect for playing clean w an archtop.
