Reviews

Sturdy
I read some reviews saying the arms could slip but I did not have that problem. Once I adjusted them to the required length and tightened the thumb screw, I could not slide the arms at all by pulling on them with great force. For peace of mind, I added some grip tape to the arms so the keyboard wont slide if the arms fail. Overall it is a great product if you want to hang your keyboards on the wall.

Great and simple solution
Was about to throw down big bucks to set up a midi rig and these expansion racks solved the setup cheaply. Six keyboards now snugly tucked into the wall all interconnected to a Novation controller. The standtastic rack is built like a tank and handled the weight effortlessly

The Perfect Solution
My keyboard racks were taking up too much space, with keyboards on the lower tiers sneaking out to be almost a foot away from the wall. I needed to optimize my space without losing functionality, and had never even considered mounting them on the wall itself. This turned out to be just what I needed. I still have access to play and program, and it opened up my studio immensely. This photo shows the keyboard rack - I left the JD-800 on a stand that I can slide in and out to access the parameters, but everything else is on the wall. I bought additional mounts for desktop gear and monitors.
What I had been looking for for ages
Having a smaller space in my new place, I spent quite a while looking at options for wall-hanging my synths. Settled on this one, which gave me more flexibility and stability than the other options AND was a bit less expensive. I wanted shorter mounting rails, so I spent a lot of time and energy to find the right hardware and painted them myself -- if the length of the rails Sweetwater sells work for you, I recommend just buying them and saving yourself lots of hassle. Biggest challenge I had was in finding usable studs in my 100+ year old house. ;)
FINALLY a perfect solution
I'm a collector of vintage synthesizers. I've got a smaller office/studio with a wall that is about 7' wide by 9' tall. I was using a vintage 80s Ultimate Support stand, with 6 tiers, with a Quik Lock 4 tier stand next to it (1 of the tiers couldn't be used due to space and one was taken by a large mixer). I have 12 synths that I didn't want to part with but didn't have room to put them all up, unless I added another stand, which really cramped my office space. The synths on the Ultimate Support stand were stable but I couldn't really see the controls very well. I stared at that wall for months trying to figure out what to do. I researched and found the Standtastic 100TK tiers. I decided to give it a shot. I opted to buy SuperStruts from a home improvement store (there are 2 types, both made of solid steel, I used the lower profile to hand 4 horizontal rows on the walls and a total of 8 higher profile ones, hanging vertically). Bottom line, I was easily able to have ALL of my synths on the wall, I can easily see ALL of the controls for each synth. They are ROCK SOLID. I was also able to put in a double 14u rack (so 28 spaces) AND I actually have room for another one or two synths! I could not be happier. Excellent product, offered great solution to my problem, oh AND I gained floor space because this solution doesn't come into the room on the bottom tiers, all are against the wall. EXCELLENT!
