A Touch of Elegance and Smooth OEM Playability

For repair, replacement, or restoration, Sweetwater guitar techs recommend OEM parts. This genuine Fender Channel-bound Stratocaster Neck combines an elegant aesthetic with a flawless fret-hand feel. The channel-bound rosewood fingerboard is directly laid into the neck, eliminating side seams and combining slick style with buttery smoothness. Plus, the comfortably rounded fingerboard edges and Modern C-shaped profile are ideal for any playing style.

Note: Every neck and guitar is different, and a final setup, including filing the nut slots and a final fret leveling, may be required after installation on your guitar. Call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer with any questions you have about upgrading or replacing the neck on your Fender guitar or bass.

Fender American Channel-bound Stratocaster Neck Features:

  • Smooth maple OEM Stratocaster neck with walnut stripe is snag-free and visually elegant
  • Channel-bound 9.5"–14" compound-radius fingerboard feels and plays great
  • 21 medium-jumbo frets and vintage ivory inlays give out a classic vibe
  • Hand-rubbed polyurethane finish with gloss headstock is durable and appealing
  • Synthetic bone nut with string-location grooves

Great neck

I have had this in a project guitar for about 7 years now. The best fender neck I've ever played on and I have a custom shop strat as well. Buy it if you need a new one.

Outstanding Neck!

I purchased this neck for a project build. I have a Warmoth body on order, but it will not be here for 3-4 months. I went ahead and put it on my 2019 Fender American Professional Strat just to try it out until the new body arrives. My Strat had been professionally set up prior to installing the new neck. Once installed and with a small truss rod adjustment, the neck was set up perfectly. Fit and finish on this neck are excellent and it is likely one of the best guitar necks I have ever played.

Excellent Neck

First I'll start with Some important notes all interested buyers should be aware of: 1) Vintage style tremolo systems will place the E strings toward the very edge of the rosewood; this is better for a modern tremolo system OR upgrade your vintage style to a Callaham V/N bridge (what I did) to avoid the strings lining up over the maple. 2) The nut is synthetic bone: you CANNOT upgrade this with ease. The bottom of the nut also fits the channel and has indents on the bottom sides to allow the maple to continue along the edges. This makes installing a bone or tusq nut nearly impossible unless you could machine cut (bandsaw) the bottoms for the perfect fit...ie it ain't happening for the everyday guy. But I've had no difficulty with the artificial bone nut. No buzzing or binding. 3) You must install your own string tree. This can be difficult if you're uncomfortable using a drill, in which case you may want to have your Luthier handle the install of everything. I installed a modern roller string tree but filed off the nub to avoid having to put 2 holes in the headstock.

My impressions: This is a pure class neck. Far better than your American professional neck which I despised due to rough fret edges. Major differences would be 21 frets, medium jumbo frets, and the compound radius that prevents fretting out. The back is buttery smooth for a finished neck with no stickiness and no need to sand down further. The channel design is visually appealing and sure different for a Fender. Installing modern locking tuners was a breeze with the perfectly pre-drilled. I have zero regrets about this upgrade as it feels great in my hands, which is ultimately all the matters for my favorite Strat. My rep, Paul LeFemina, hooked me up well. Thanks bud

It's a good neck

I replaced a MIM 2015 rosewood from my partscaster with this neck. I was in love with the old neck, but the frets got too short to salvage.
This one had an adjustment period, but pretty soon I was locked in to the new feel of the tapered/compound radius neck. It really does play like warm butter once you tune in to it.

It was a quick setup, no nut filing necessary, bang-on. Craftsmanship is excellent--I did have to scrape some overflowed finish off of a couple frets. Nobody but me would have noticed them anyway. There are a few bubbles in the finish right above the nut, but its not noticeable enough for me to bother with a return. Nothing's perfect.

My only real complaint is that it doesn't FEEL like rosewood in your hands. It's like it is not as dense, it doesn't have the resonance I loved about my MIM. That was made with older generations of rosewood, so that may have something to do with it.
But all the extra maple for the channel-binding is probably what's changing the feel. It does feel a little bit more like an all-maple neck in your hands, even if it's rosewood under the fingers. All in all I'm still really happy with it...I'm going to keep it on and it looks sexy as hell on my new build.
