Your New Favorite Travel Companion

Who said craftsmanship, comfort, quality tone, and exceptional playability were too much to ask for in a travel-size acoustic guitar? Certainly not Martin, because its 000C Jr-E reimagines everything that a junior-model guitar can be and delivers a mature sound and exceptional playing experience that, thanks to the guitar’s size, you can always have with you. The 000C Jr-E starts with a solid spruce top and is complemented by the pairing of sapele back and sides, resulting in a body that radiates a balanced tone, plenty of projection, and that signature Martin warmth. Likewise, a hardwood neck attached via a mortise and tenon neck joint and capped with a Richlite fingerboard provides substantial resonance, ultimate fretting comfort, and long-lasting durability. Though compact in stature, the 000C Jr-E is a full-scale model, clocking in at 24.9 inches. When combined with the Performing Artist neck profile, this guitar is primed for almost anyone to pick up and play. Finally, with the addition of the Martin E-1 preamp system, Sweetwater guitarists are able to take this guitar literally anywhere and everywhere. From the studio to the stage, from the bedroom to the beach, you’ll never want your Martin 000C Jr-E too far out of reach.

This fingerboard’s story

As ebony tree populations in the wild diminish, guitar manufacturers like Martin are turning to sustainable alternatives. The Richlite fingerboard on the 000C Jr-E is one of those! This stable wood won’t shrink or crack apart from the neck and feels sublimely smooth, much like ebony. Guitarists at Sweetwater say it has similar, if not superior, tonal properties to ebony. This Richlite fingerboard features 20 frets down its 24.9-inch scale, plus a comfortable 16-inch radius that’ll keep you playing your favorite licks all day long. Martin also designed the 000C Jr-E with a cutaway so you can access as much of the Richlite fingerboard as possible. Combined with its sapele back and sides and solid spruce top, the 000C Jr-E is one acoustic-electric guitar you will love playing.

Plug in or vibe out

It’s a Martin, so you know the 000C Jr-E sounds immaculate played acoustically, but you’ll be glad to know it’s also equipped with Martin’s E-1 electronics system. With the E-1, you can plug in at gigs or your recording interface to achieve a dynamic and natural sound. The E-1 features a pickup mounted at the bridge, with Volume/Phase and Tone controls mounted for discreet and easy access underneath the soundhole. The built-in chromatic tuner will also keep your 000C Jr-E sounding dialed in without requiring an instrument cable.

Martin 000C Jr-E Features:

  • Solid spruce and sapele tonewoods result in a delightfully projective and balanced-sounding acoustic-electric guitar
  • Richlite fingerboard looks and sounds like ebony, without chances for warping or cracking
  • 000 Junior 14 Fret Cutaway body shape and 24.9-in. scale fit in the hands of almost any player
  • Comfortable Performing Artist neck profile and 16-in. fingerboard radius
  • Mortise and tenon neck joint for abundant resonance
  • Martin E-1 pickup system yields natural, dynamic sound
  • Volume/Phase control, Tone control, and built-in chromatic tuner

Reviews

Martin 000C-Jr-E

A home run by Martin! I wanted a living room noodle/ rehearse guitar that had a small footprint and was comfortable. Consider it done.

All solid wood, spruce top, sapele b&s.

I was good with the Richlite fretboard.

Gives you a bigger sound than the size suggests.

Quality build and components. I love the electronics. Sounds wonderful and the tuner works great. Comes with the best soft case in the business. Nice abalone work. For a $ you're getting more than you thought. Also has a full length scale fretboard.

I tried another major brand's mini, played it for 3 minutes, boxed it up and sent it back for this awesome guitar.

Now my expensive Martin gets a few days off.

Music background: Pickin’ and grinnin’ for over 50 years.
Checks all the boxes!
Been playing less than a year, started with a cheap electric and wanted to pick up a nice acoustic to go with my upcoming formal lessons. Tried a LOT of smaller acoustics (at local guitar stores) over the last 3 months (dreadnoughts amd others just too uncomfortable for my small staure). Although I was really impressed with the sound of the Taylor GS mini e Rosewood/Spruce, the short neck (23.5") didn't feel as easy as expected and just made me feel like I was sitting at the kids table
This is fast becoming my favorite
I purchased this guitar on a whim because I won a raffle, and had some extra cash. I have no regrets. My only "con" is that it really projects, and I'm not a good enough player to draw that much attention.
This is about what I like and what I don't of the Martin 000C Jr-E
Sound. It's crazy important to me. I like the way it sounds, more than many of my other guitars. It shines as rhythm and lead but still pretty good at finger style. I bought a Martin 000-18 (2025) at the same time and also kept it, better than my J-45 at finger style, more comfortable. Both of those sit in the case. For the last month I've played this and was always comparing it to my Taylor GS Mini and Taylor 114ce. I like this little Martin better. The sound is better and works better with my vocals, and so comfortable to hold. Hard to explain why for the sound and how it fits but the volume, louder than the GS mini, also doesn't overwhelm my voice.

The neck, the setup, the polish of fret wires, scale length, nut width, and that wonderful stuff called Richlight(?) for the fretboard. I'm an ebony fan but hey. Should I be embarrassed to like this better, so smooth and fast. Out of the box it was ready to play, I don't need a setup, although the 000-18 definitely needs one, haven't done it yet (very lazy). It plays so nice, up and down the neck, and higher registers, well beyond anything for this price. If you are a beginner, this will be a true love. I'm old, picky, and will use this for every style of playing. Practicing songs, scales, instrumental pieces. Works well in a chair in front of the computer. It capo's well, better than most, and retains the lower bass notes, unlike my J-45, where the 6th string dies at any capo point above the 3rd fret. Playing scarborough fair for example, capo up to the 7th, this guitar sounds beautiful. The bass (mainly 6th string) don't have the greatest quality of sound, but it is as good as my Yamaha GS830, 000-18, Taylors, and maybe better than my J-45.
The nut is glued on nicely and likely dropped down on a machine with six cutting wheels to set string depth against the fret wire height. So string height there is perfect but deep string setting can cause for sticky strings when tuning. Strings should be set about half way in. The Taylor GS mini wins out on this, but it's nothing, and a win to keep cost down.
The looks. I don't care for the top. I need the spruce top, my favorite. Had the mahogany model but sent it back. The sound lacked dynamics, just one volume, and had a sound difference in color and brightness didn't work well with vocals, for me anyway. To me it looks like a girls guitar. I wish I could've gotten the spruce in sunburst, or black, like the Gibson L-00.
My wrap, I really like this guitar. The sound, play ability and portability. I don't play my expensive guitars much. Want to mention the weight. In the case it is incredibly light. It's much lighter than my Taylor GS mini, which is also light. The electronics, it has a built in tuner, sooooo nice, and a pickup if you want to get loud. Last I Just looked these guitars were backordered. It's a wonderful guitar for the money, a perfect first guitar, and so much fun to play.
Music background: Play about everything, flat pick and finger style.
Martin 000c-Jr
This is a just a terrific guitar. It's amazing that Martin provides so much at such an affordable price. Rob was, as always, amazing in taking care of my order and I had it in hand in 48 hours. Why on EARTH would you buy from anyone but Sweetwater?
