The Definitive Wah, Reissued

When you think of the sound of an electric guitar singing through a wah pedal, you're envisioning the sound of the Vox V846-HW handwired wah pedal. The V846-HW is based on Vox's legendary V846 wah from 1967, regarded by many guitarists as the epitome of the wah-wah effect. The V846-HW handwired wah pedal uses the same vintage spec Halo-type inductors that gave the original V846 its iconic sound. In fact, every component of the V846-HW was chosen to give you vintage tone, low-noise operation, and top-notch performance. The Vox V846-HW handwired wah pedal from Sweetwater may be the last wah you ever need.

Handwired reissue of a classic

Just like the original it's based on, the Vox V846-HW wah pedal sports handwired turret board construction - no printed circuit boards here! While labor-intensive, handwiring lets Vox's expert technicians optimize the signal path for low noise and maximum tone. Your amplifier will absolutely love it.

Premium components for optimum tone

Beyond handwired construction, every component of the V846-HW wah pedal was chosen for maximum sonic benefit. The heart, soul, and vibe of the original V846 wah came from its Halo-type inductor, and the V846-HW uses a vintage-spec Halo-type inductor to put that vintage vibe at your feet. Also note the low-noise carbon composite resistors, chosen for their quiet operation and sonic transparency.

Built to last

The Vox V846-HW is ready to take to the road, with rugged construction and dependable operation. The classic die-cast body can take years of abuse. The footswitch itself is made by Carling Technologies, specialists in high-quality components. And the input and output jacks are made by Switchcraft, so you know you'll always get a clean, consistent connection.

Vox V846-HW Handwired Wah Pedal Features:

  • Handwired reissue of the V846 from 1967, one of the most-played wah pedals ever
  • Uses a vintage-spec Halo-type inductor, key to the vintage tone of the original V846
  • Low-noise carbon composite resistors are incredibly quiet and don't color your electric guitar's tone
  • High-quality footswitch, made by Carling Technologies to be dependable and rugged
  • Switchcraft jacks for reliable operation and optimum signal transfer

Reviews

voxhandwired v846
Extremely well built and rugged. I didn't even have to adjust the sweep of this pedal as has to be done with most. I finally retired my 1967 clyde picture wah from the road. This takes it's place with flying colors. couldn't be happier with it. 5 STARS.

I love my VOX HWwah! If you use other pedals simultaneously than you must put the Wah in first.

Ridiculous.
I asked for a cry baby, but was given one of these instead. It offers the same focused simplicity I was looking for, and yet it still overwhelms with it's quality. Quiet. Smooth. I have it super glued to my pedal board. It's only downside: it's heavy. I bought some wooden feet and super glued those. I have a compressor in front of it and a fender bassman emulator after it. It really gets the job done.

Excellent way pedal the best I've ever used. Very quiet whether in use or not. Very well built should last. Surprised it's battery powered only but I'm sure it could be modified easily for a power supply.
