Octave Up, Octave Down, and Fifth Up Effects

From 12-string guitar tones to organ sounds and synth effects, the T-Rex Quint Machine gives you much more than octave doubling effects. You have separate volume controls for Fifth Up, Octave Up, and Octave Down effects. Blend them with your dry signal, or remove your dry tone altogether for more extreme effects. And thanks to precise polyphonic tracking, the pitch effects won't glitch out even when you're playing your fastest. Guitarists at Sweetwater know that sometimes an octave effect is just what you need to take a guitar part over the top, and we're impressed with the sonic range of the T-Rex Quint Machine pitch shifter pedal.

T-Rex effects: guitarist designed, quality built

Danish tone pioneers T-Rex Engineering have been making quality effects pedals and guitar gear since the 1990s. T-Rex pedals are made using some of the best components in the industry, like film/foil electrolytic capacitors, lifetime-use pots, and rugged footswitches, toggles, and connectors. T-Rex's better-known pedals include the Replica digital delay and Mudhoney distortion, which can be found on the pedalboards of top guitarists David Gilmour, John Mayer, Mark Tremonti, and Steve Morse.

T-Rex Quint Machine Pitch Effects Pedal Features:
  • Pitch effects pedal with Octave Up, Octave Down, and Fifth Up
  • Separate volume controls for each pitch offer a wide range of effects
  • Combine with your dry signal, or leave your dry signal out
  • Ideal for 12-string guitar tones, organ sounds, and synth-style effects
  • Fast polyphonic tracking for tight pitch effects that won't glitch out
  • Powered by 9-volt power supply (sold separately)
Expand the sonic range of your guitar with the T-Rex Quint Machine pedal.

Great Octave Pedal

I didn't like the T-Rex Quint Machine at first but it grew on me. My initial interest in an octave pedal was having a way to reliably fake a bass, and so when I first pulled this little pedal out and cranked the lower octave all the way up, the mix fully wet, I was disappointed to hear muddy bass tones and a noticeable delay. But when you even out the wet/dry mix it sounds significantly better and the tracking delay is harder to confirm. (Though it is still there, just enough to make you go "Hey, is there a delay there? Definitely. Maybe. I think? No, no delay. Wait, maybe?" Watching this video it almost looks like my fingers are out of synch with the song, lol. When playing it, as long as you don't go full wet it's really hard to spot the tracking delay.) After I recorded this in my DAW (Audacity), I didn't have to move it around at all; it was in sync. Anyway, I love it. Highly recommended.

This is a great pedal with a 5th voice!

First, thanks to my senior engineer sales Alden Debee to support me in every purchase on Sweetwater. I really like this pedal! It is more than an octave pedal because it has a fifth voice so you can use with the two octaves to make a synth sound and to make other interesting sounds. Very easy to use in a compact case. Important issue: is a 9V pedal (battery not supported).

Love this pedal

I didn't really know about this pedal until I saw it half off on Sweetwater so I took a risk and I tried it and I absolutely love this pedal sounds great and Works really well with my board.

The fifth up really ads some really cool sounds and can be very useful.

probably the best octave pedal....

I had one of these before and like a dummy I sold it off looking for better pedals, problem is there isn't one. The tracking on this pedal is as good as it gets and more importantly its tone is better. I've had them all and I came back around to the Quint. It if had a lower 5th it would be just bloody perfect.
I am selling my new Waza Boss as I just don't like the tone and sound the pedal produces. That is the true test of an octave pedal, listen to just the octave signals. This has the best bass tone lower octave of anything and virtually no glitching in the tracking. Upper octave is usable but not utterly amazing sort of like a POG but maybe not as synthy sounding.
Highly recommended, before you get a POG version check out T-Rex they are just better pedals and sorry but this marks the end of my Boss days as well.

Nice poly sounds

I got this because I'm a worship guitarist and this type effect is a staple for brightening and thickening your tone at times. I see everyone with EHX POGs on their boards but of course I wanted to be different and I have not regretted it! Great options and tons of sounds you can get out of this! I love mine!
