Awesome pedal for metal!!

This pedal does it all! Couldn't be happier with the drop tuning feature that allows for temporary or sustained drop effects, not to mention the Whammy effects!

Whammy DT

Love this pedal! Drop tune makes it nice when jamming with different tunings without re-tuning the guitar.
Music background: 45 years playing guitar. I have played many instruments. I also worked as a product development specialist for Digitech, dbx, Lexicon, DOD, and Johnson amplification.

Premium construction, monster sound

This is the best pitch shift pedal I have used. It uses a full metal construction which seems extremely solid in initial quality (I haven't used this in the long term yet) with a very sturdy and smooth pedal articulation. The sound qulaity rich and full, though it becomes a bit thin at the limits of pitch (two octaves up or down), this is to be expected from any such pedal, however, so I don't count it against the whammy.

The pedal is truely two in one, as the right side funtions as a genuine sounding and easy to use pitch change, while the left side is an incredibly fun and engaing modulation pedal with as many options as I could want in such a pedal. For those curious, the right side functions as a easy key change or even as a somewhat believable bass guitar, which is great for on the fly song creation with a looper. Add a drum machine to the mix, and you can become a one man band. The left side can be used independently of the right (seperatly or simultaneously) and allows for an array of shifting options: the dual pitch options are particularly engaging!

Overall, I would suggest this pedal to anyone who has the floor or board space and the cash. This is a no-brainer for those looking for the ultimate pitch shifter.

Perfect Tool for the Job

I've been gigging for just over a year now, and added this to my signal chain recently, mostly for the whammy effect (I don't like bars, so this is better). It works VERY well for that purpose but...

OMFG the drop effect is SOOO useful. We play songs in 3 common tunings (E, Eb, Drop D) and the only thing I have to retune for now is Drop D. It's added lots of possibilities to our repertoire, as we don't have to cart around extra guitars for tuning changes and can swap to original keys instantly.

I can't recommend this enough. I had heard that they introduce a lot of latency, but I haven't noticed anything like that.

If I could give it 6 stars out of 5, I would.

Diditech Whammy Red DT

Scott Grove Doctor Groovy did a video on Y Tube excellent teaching . One important thing the pedal is not going to open tune your guitar like say open G to play a Honky Tonk Women by the Stones . It is a wonderful Capo you can go up a full octave for a
12 string or maybe Nashville tuning . Scott Grove can play anything he also plays country he can use the pedal like a steel guitar. Scott says you have to learn how to play the pedal yes it depends on what kind of song you are playing.Remember this pedal wont do open tuning it is a great Capo! the open tuning pedal is the Boss -10 Yellow Submarine it also so has many different guitar models like a 1959 Les Paul !! Will see how it sounds . You tube has videos for both !
