Iconic Sound Shaping, Reimagined and Reborn
When designing this plug-in, AIR engineers meticulously pored over the nuances and features of numerous pieces of historic processing hardware, reverse-engineering their favorite quirks and features to reimagine them for the modern producer’s near-limitless virtual landscape. Multiband Filterbank is the result — a culmination of time-tested tools and sound-shaping capabilities, untethered by the physical and technological constraints of bygone eras. This genre-transcending tool kit boasts five types of filters, with dedicated modules for refined contouring of each band. For Sweetwater’s producers, Multiband Filterbank’s flexibility is one of its most powerful attributes, boasting multi-frequency crossfading and adjustable crossover points that ensure each track, instrument, vocal, and more is masterfully honed to unlock the latent potential of your work. With heaps of carefully constructed presets to kick off countless music styles and uses, alongside modulation, envelope, and texturizing tools that supplement diverse per-band controls, AIR’s Multiband Filterbank is the Swiss Army knife for practically every sound design application.
Note: This software expansion requires MPC Key 37, MPC Key 61, MPC One+, MPC One, MPC X, MPC X Special Edition, MPC Live, MPC Live II, MPC Live 3, or MPC XL hardware running MPC version 3.4 or above. Detailed, dynamic, and designed for premier production
Thanks to AIR’s design prowess and superlative UX/UI work, the fluid, intuitive interface of Multiband Filterbank streamlines your sound-shaping workflow, but beneath its sleek surface is a wealth of versatile, powerful filtering capabilities. The adjustable crossover is only the beginning, as each band’s module lets you select from one of five filters individually applied to that band: Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Notch, and Peak. Moreover, the dual-attenuation abilities let you dial in the ideal output, simultaneously sweeping across all three bands.

Mild-to-wild modulation and more
Multiband Filterbank’s myriad frequency-shaping tools make it a formidable force of mixing and mastering on its own, but AIR’s methodical research led them to understand how EQs, alone, weren’t the only way to supercharge your sounds to perform at their best. Per-band Cutoff and Resonance parameters are complemented by an armature of aural adjustments, like the Pre-Drive control and Envelope Follower. Pre-Drive lets you imbue each band with variable amounts of grit, pushing your sounds to elicit robust character, shimmering harmonics, and distorted textures.
With the Envelope Follower, Rise, Fall, and Gain controls can be assigned to any band, with Low, Mid, and High Follow options that seamlessly elevate your sound without sacrificing details. With the Mod parameter, every band has the ability to modulate the incoming audio, allowing your sound to bounce, breathe, and boom wherever needed, or create dynamic ducking that punches and pulses with every incoming beat. Fluid controls and seamless incorporation make Multiband Filterbank unparalleled in its adaptability, but its formidable out-of-the-box tool kit only excels further as you tailor it to your projects. To that end, the plug-in’s UI supplies ample real-time feedback, including your master output, the waveform of your filtered audio, and meters to track the behavior and amount of any active Envelope Follower.
