Surgically Isolate and Process Instruments Within a Mix
Ever wish you could strip out a track from a stereo mix and process it? Sweetwater has a very cool plug-in you should know about. It’s called Peel, and the geniuses at zplane who designed it know a thing or two about spatial spectral isolator EQ, which is what Peel does. You’ll be amazed and delighted with Peel’s ability to surgically isolate individual instruments or vocals in a stereo audio recording, letting you solo or mute them — or even route them for external processing! Vocal too loud? Use Peel to send it to a separate DAW track and set the level and panning position where you want them — as if the song hadn’t been mixed yet! Is the snare in that drum loop too dry? No worries. Peel can extract only the snare so you can process it any way you want. Peel lets you see your entire mix visually to help identify issues and solve them. You’ll find zplane Peel to be an indispensable studio tool, and an unbelievable value!
Note: Not all DAWs support sending audio from Peel’s second output to its own audio track. Check with zplane for the latest compatibility information.
