Level Up Your Sound with Tube Preamplification

ART’s Solo MPA multi-voice tube preamplifier is a beginner-friendly entry into the world of outboard preamplification. The 1-channel preamp injects your signal with warm tube tone shaped by intuitive controls and features. You get XLR microphone inputs on the back panel with phantom power for condenser mics and a front-mounted high-impedance input for instruments. Operation is simple. First, dial up the ideal microphone sound using the adjustable input impedance knob. From there, use the tilt EQ and low-cut filter to shape the sound to perfection. Sweetwater recording engineers note that the Solo MPA keeps total harmonic distortion (THD) to an absolute minimum, ensuring noise-free recording for all occasions. Go with the ART Solo MPA multi-voice tube preamp and take your sound to the next level.

Everyone should have a good mic pre

External preamps are a great way to add more spice to a signal while recording. The ART Solo MPA preamp’s selectable input impedance and tilt EQ deliver sonic coloration in spades. The adjustable impedance lets you dial in a wide range of microphone voicings. Meanwhile, the tilt EQ shapes the bass and treble simultaneously. If you boost the bass, the treble is reduced proportionally and vice versa. There’s also a low-cut filter to tame any unruly bass frequencies. By using the Solo MPA, you can improve the sound of any signal and augment your productions.

Flexible tube-fueled tone

The Solo MPA preamplifier leverages old-school vacuum tubes to inject your signal with warm tube tone. You get flexible controls to dial in the perfect sound for any source. First, the tilt EQ offers easy tone-shaping. Meanwhile, the adjustable input impedance helps you get more sounds from your microphone. Whether you’re plugging in a microphone or an instrument, the Solo MPA multi-voice tube preamplifier makes any signal sound its best.

Reviews

Exceeds expectations

While this is not a high-end "premiere" preamp with lots of bells and whistles, it is more than adequate for vocals and instruments with all the basic tools you need. It does exactly what I need - good, clear, warm preamping without audible noise. You do have some unique tone shaping options that are fun to experiment with.

The difference in sound quality between this and more expensive units is very minor. A professional engineer may be able to tell the difference between this and a $ preamp, but the vast majority of listeners won't. This unit will yield high quality results without breaking the bank.

There are almost no reviews of this item anywhere, which is unfortunate.

ART is known as a budget brand utilizing budget components, much like Behringer, so historically you would expect budget results. But in my experience, this unit exceeds expectations.

The 5-star rating I give is based on the cost vs end results. I will admit that if I spent $ or more for a preamp, I would expect better end results, but again it is only minor degrees of difference in sound quality vs a large difference in cost.
