Delivers Huge Marshall Tone

The MG50GFX is loaded with pure Marshall tone. You get your choice of Clean, Crunch, OD1, and OD2 channels that you can shape with a 3-band EQ. You also get integrated reverb, delay, and digital effects. Best of all, each channel's settings are storable and recallable. There's enough power on tap to fill a medium-sized club, and the MG50GFX's revolutionary solid-state design convincingly emulates a tube amp's tone and response. Beyond that, the MG50GFX supplies you with a 2-button footswitch, switchable effects loop, built-in tuner, and a line input for music players. Emulated headphone and line outputs are also onboard. Part of Marshall's MG Gold series, the MG50GFX is great for the studio and the stage.

From the music store to stages everywhere

Jim Marshall didn't start out building great amps. In fact, his entry into the amp world came about in part because the drummers that visited his music shop for equipment and lessons often brought along their guitar players. Conversations about their amplification needs led to the birth of a line of amps that would eventually change the sound of music. From those first humble creations to Pete Townshend's first monster full stacks; from the mid-'60s combos to Hendrix to backlines of multiple Marshall rigs, there's a reason why so many guitarists (including quite a few here at Sweetwater) swear by Marshall amps. Try one out and see for yourself!

Excellent Amp!

Sounds great. Much more powerful than I need. Don't really need my pedals anymore either. (Seriously, I am going to remove some of my pedals from my board for simplicity.). The reverb on this amp is excellent. The distortion channels are great. I really like having the headphone output for quiet practice. I plugged a Bluetooth receiver into the input jack to play along with music wirelessly from my iPhone. I anticipate consistency and reliability from this solid state amp. Marshall reputation is a plus. Fit and finish is excellent. Sweetwater buying experience has been awesome.

Alternative Amp

I have 3 Fender Amps and needed something with a different sound. Mostly home studio work so this size, shape and sound fit the bill. I recommend this amp to everyone. Other amps are nice, but nothing beats that Marshall sound.
Music background: Been playing guitar seriously since 1979. Rhythm, Bass, Lead, Lapsteel. Have a personal studio at home, I make backing tracks for people at church. I play Gospel, Country, Pop, Light Rock, Blues, Jazz...

Could not be happier

I received my Marshall MG50GFX Saturday morning the 8th of April. A little background, the reason why I ordered this amp is because I've been playing out of my Fender Deluxe. Obviously, I love my Fender amp,all tube amp sounds phenomenal. However, I also know that it's not good to keep turning it on and off or to leave it dormant while it's on for long periods of time. That's why I ordered the Marshall. During the weekdays, I'll sit and watch sports and noodle with my guitar . Sometimes I can set it down for up to a half hour and then pick it up again . That's why I wanted the solid state .I can turn that solid state on leave it on with no issues and the amp sounds simply awesome. I actually consider myself very lucky to have the two amps that I have because they're both phenomenal. The effects, the face of the Marshall amp couldn't be easier to use. And as always, Sweetwater gets everything out in a timely manner and they don't mess around. Your stuff gets to you as quick as possible, guaranteed.

Marshall Amp Review

Love my new amp. Now I know why so many musicians depend on Marshall. Thanks, Sweetwater.
Music background: Been playing musical instruments nearly my whole life. Wish my playing was proof of that.

Great Little Amp!

Owned 3 Marshall practice amps over the years and this is the best! The 4 channels are perfect for what I play. Enjoy the phaser/flanger. The response from the preamp is really tight. And then there's that Marshall crunch. If you like classic, blues-based hard rock / metal like I do, I don't see how you can go wrong here. This 1x12 is small enough to be lightweight, but sturdy... as in the foot pedal construction. Not some cheap plastic here. I also appreciate the simplicity and ease of use of the interface. Great little amp for the price. Only thing I could find was the delay effect is not as strong as my Blackstar 2x10. But the Marshall outperforms in everything else. I'm a Marshall fan for sure. I've only used this amp for a month, but I love it. And the people at Sweetwater always come through for me.
Music background: Rocker

There are countless "British"-style guitar amplifiers out there, but take it from the lifelong guitarists and tone connoisseurs at Sweetwater, when it comes to Marshall tone, there's nothing like the real thing. We've played them all, from vintage JTM45s and the ultra-cool Plexi reissue to modern handmade masterpieces such as the JVM410. There isn't a model among them we can't recommend with total confidence, and that includes their more affordable models too, like MG, DSL, and Code series amps. Thanks to our tight relationship with Marshall, Sweetwater's always on the cutting edge of their latest designs, custom models, and limited-edition gems. If you want iconic tone from across the pond, you want Marshall, and your Sweetwater Sales Engineer will help you find the perfect one.
