A Martin with Much to Prove

This 00-X2E acoustic-electric puts the voice and vivacity of a veritable Martin 6-string within the reach of any guitarist. Fronted with a bright and balanced spruce top and backed by high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides, this 00-bodied guitar sings with a delightfully full tonality and X-braced projection that will ably accommodate just about any musical avenue you cruise down. Plug-in for performances, and let versatile Martin E1 onboard electronics reveal the crystal clear and all-natural tones of the 00-X2E to larger audiences. Its easy-to-handle PA neck profile lands confidently in the palms of guitarists from any background as well, from beginners and advancing players to seasoned veterans. Ornamented with Style 28 dot inlays, an abalone rosette, tortoise pickguard, satin chrome tuners, and the iconic C.F. Martin & Co. insignia at the matching headstock, this Martin looks and performs above its paygrade!

Comfy feel, balanced sound

Spruce is the premier top wood choice for many guitarists across the globe because of its articulate broadcast of each note with beautifully equalized tone. Structured with Martin’s X-bracing on the underside, Sweetwater guitarists have discovered the 00-X2E projects with ease and has no trouble shouting when need be. High-pressure laminate back and sides enhance the bass and midrange with a round presence that fills out the 00-X2E’s tonal palette, while the comfortably PA-profiled neck and its accompanying fingerboard of select hardwood both aid in translating your sustained notes with effortless endurance. Whether you’re an onstage regular, an at-home songwriter, or just starting out on your 6-string journey, you’ll be impressed by the 00-X2E’s delightful tones and unencumbering feel.

Martin E1 electronics

As lovely as its natural tone sounds, the 00-X2E plays just as superbly when amplified courtesy of Martin’s proprietary E1 electronics. Not only is its sound quality delivered with maximum clarity and precise acoustic replication, but the E1 system poses plenty of onboard sound sculpting features. A sound hole-mounted Volume wheel levels the pickup’s output; the Tone wheel manages your balance of treble/bass to best suit the musical space at hand. There’s also a Phase control for achieving better bass response and keeping unwanted feedback from hindering your performance. Topped with a convenient chromatic tuner, the 00-X2E ensures you’re always sounding your best, no matter the circumstances.

Dressed in its Martin best

While the 00-X2E may be priced for every player, it’s still a Martin, and it reminds you around every curve! Up and down the fingerboard, Style 28 dot inlays give your intervals a sharp look that perfectly matches the energy of the abalone rosette and tortoise pickguard. At the headstock, a back and sides-matching cocobolo veneer comes flanked by dependable closed-gear satin chrome tuning machines on either side. Stamped with the legendary 1833 seal of approval, the 00-X2E proves itself a worthy Martin from stem to stern.

Reviews

up date on recent purchase
out of the box nearly a month.. tuned down 1/2 step..liking it more and more..the tone is richer thru all ranges..still want new strings and maybe some ebony bridge pins...

I think this guitar is a bargain and craftsmanship is outstanding.. actually BETTER than 2 other Nazareth, Penn made models I had in the past...

It is not as rich tone wise as the $ and up.. but can certainly play with the more expensive models..and for $700..a bargain..!
Martin 00-X2e
ok I bought one of these..so far I like it..but dont expect too much..first the good: they are made very nicely in Mexico..craftsmanship is very nice...the solid top is nice and thick with beveled edges..cocobolo pattern on back..easy to hold..electronics: very nice with built in tuner !!

Cons: back and sides are laminate..not quite as finished as the more exppensive Martins but ok,

well these guitars travel a long way.. from Sea of Cortez city of Navajoa, Sonora to USA and then trucked around..I think it takes a few weeks for the guitars to settle and get in tune with themselves. set up is good...mine is coming around tone wise..needs better strings but great potential...!

Overall: these guitars a nicely made ( as good as $ Martins made in USA) , nice soft case, electronics are great...if made in USA, they would easily be $ ...

I have had guitar 2 weeks.. so far so good..prob will keep.
