A Tonally Adaptive Concert that Goes Back to the Roots
Breedlove is taking things back to what matters most with its Roots Series Concert. As the entry point for the entire line, this series blends minimalist styling with high-quality tonewoods and Breedlove’s celebrated handbuilt approach, resulting in a guitar that effortlessly melds playability, tone, and no-frills elegance. Combining a myrtlewood top, back, and sides with Breedlove’s proprietary Sound Optimization process, the Roots Concert offers an adaptable voice with rich low-end, authoritative mids, and dynamic presence. The eastern hard rock maple neck features a classic Breedlove Soft C profile, paired with a sleek ebony fretboard for effortless movement. LR Baggs HiFi electronics deliver a noninvasive, authentic amplification of the guitar’s natural voice — a level of clarity and warmth that consistently earns praise from Sweetwater’s guitarists. Sonically adaptable and equally suitable for the stage and the campfire, the Roots Concert embodies what guitarists adore about an American acoustic.

Traditional tonewood combinations and top-shelf appointments
An all myrtlewood build is just one of several tonewood variants Breedlove employs for the Roots lineup. The unique tonewood lends the guitar an immensely adaptable tonal profile that’s equal parts dynamic and bold. Myrtlewood’s revered for blending the best qualities of other tonewoods, delivering a rich low end akin to rosewood, authoritative mids that mirror mahogany, and articulate highs most closely associated with maple. But that’s just the beginning. The Roots concert features an eastern hard rock maple neck with a Soft C profile matched to the body shape, a sleek ebony fretboard, and a pinless bridge for confident, comfortable performance.

Forward-thinking Sound Optimization process
Every made-in-Bend Breedlove guitar benefits from the company’s proprietary Sound Optimization process. Sound Optimization is a data-driven process that accounts for the inherent variability in natural tonewoods and ensures every guitar performs to its full potential. So how does it work? First, Breedlove sands each tonewood to a desired weight (most guitar companies sand to a uniform thickness). Once the braces are glued in, the company’s luthiers use soft mallets, microphones, and specialized software to analyze the top and back frequency response. They then voice the braces by hand and constantly remeasure the frequency response to ensure the top and back resonate to predetermined target frequencies.
Breedlove’s groundbreaking combination of data-backed technology with the art of lutherie ensures that its instruments sound unlike any other. The guitar comes alive the second you pluck your first note. Each Sound Optimized guitar offers a huge dynamic range with striking note separation and clarity. Plus, the sustain is out of this world. Breedlove believes in its Sound Optimization technology so much that no instrument leaves its Oregon workshop until it performs to its full potential — even if that means carving on the bracing through the soundhole. With a Sound Optimized Breedlove guitar, you’ll experience a level of performance and sonic consistency that you can’t find anywhere else. Not sold yet? You will be once you play one.
Breedlove: guitars you can feel good about
Since its founding in 1990, Breedlove has focused on reducing its impact on the planet without compromising the quality of its instruments. This radical approach to sustainability led Breedlove to create a Tonewood Certification Program and commit to visiting each location where its timber is harvested to ensure specific sustainability standards are met. The company has introduced player-centered innovations, including top-loading bridges, custom voicings, and unique neck profiles. From the Roots to the Artisan to the Collector, each and every Breedlove is made with an uncompromising dedication to quality sound, flawless workmanship, and environmental sustainability. Buying a Breedlove is much more than purchasing a top-notch acoustic guitar — it’s buying a guitar that you can feel good about.
