A neck designed to be easy on your fingers

One of the biggest complaints that we hear from beginning guitar players at Sweetwater is that their fingers hurt from playing guitar. Sometimes this is just part of playing guitar, but other times it's due to poor-playing, maladjusted guitars. Epiphone's new E1 Classic acoustic guitar was designed to overcome these issues and still come in at an affordable price. The E1 Classic's optimized neck features a new, smooth-playing EZ-Profile neck shape, jumbo frets, and a shorter nut width for easier fingering.

Classic-sized body is super comfortable to play

The E1 Classic guitar sports a comfortable to play body size. The select cedar top and mahogany back and sides give you classic acoustic tones that are sure to please. Other cool features include multi-layer binding, GraphTech NuBone nut and saddle, and ultra-light strings.

Best fit for me

I am returning to music after a 30+ year layoff. This guitar is high quality at a bargain price. Nice also to have human service on the phone. Very happy with the instrument and the service.

Excellent Nylon String Guitar

Rich tone, easy to play. Great look and finish. It's light as a feather and a joy to play. Nobody would believe how affordable it is after hearing how great it sounds.

Epiphone Classical E1

Ii made my purchase based on the reviews and the exemplary service and customer support at Sweetwater.com and on what I was looking for. I currently have 7 guitars but I did not own a nylon string classical model. My expertise was almost nil when it comes to classical guitar. I wanted to find something inexpensive to use for now. I have owned several Epiphone guitars over the years, so I thought why not give this Epi a shot. Wow! I can`t believe I got this much quality for such a great price. Looks good, plays great, fits my smallish digits perfectly. Has a voice that sings to me. The folks who provided their feedback were absolutely on point. Thank you all for your assistance.
Music background: middle of the road, playing what I enjoy musically.

You are not going to do better for an inexpensive starter guitar

My regular acoustic guitar is a Taylor 710 but I needed to get an inexpensive gift starter nylon string guitar for a petite relative. There were a few candidate guitars but of the demo videos I found, I liked what I heard from the Epiphone Classical E1 the best. Maybe I would have felt differently if I could play them all for myself, but I couldn't, and decided to take a chance on the Epiphone.

I am very happy with the guitar I received. The neck is straight and seems stable, the action is good and the strings are not high. It is a bit smaller than the guitars I normally use, but that is what the person I bought it for wanted. The 1 3/4" nut is the same as my Taylor 710. Once I put a few tunings on it, the intonation is fine. It is SO much better than the inexpensive starter guitars of my younger years. If the beginner I bought it for ends up not continuing to play, I would be perfectly happy having it around as a "couch guitar". It doesn't have a huge timbre but is fine for noodling or practice.

What about Steel Strings on it? Why not?!

First off, sorry for my english, I am brazilian.
...and Yes, I am a scientist! hehe

The guitar is perfect for practicing wherever we are, very light, small body, very confortable to play, well built, the only complain I have is about the tuning/tuning pegs/tuning stability. I am just dealing with it, but if I replace anything one day on it, it is going to be the tuners.

But I did that experience; I replaced the strings for some steel strings and for me, it worked perfect!
I like it better now, but I don't know if it will affect the neck, the bridge, or anything on it, but I will figure it out sooner or later. But that is all right, it is what I like to do.

So, I would suggest Sweetwater and that Acoustic guitar to anyone, adult, kids, beginners or not. Great instrument to have around wherever we go. Did not come with gig bag or case. It is 41 inchs though and 0.31 thickness.
