Your Music Needs the Electromatic Jet Baritone

The Gretsch G5260T Electromatic Jet Baritone solidbody electric guitar adds an exuberant, versatile voice to your sonic palette that’s also delightfully accessible. Tuned B-to-B with a 29.75" scale length, the baritone range sits right between your bass and guitar/keyboard parts, providing the glue for thick, powerful mixes onstage and in the studio. The G5260T Electromatic Jet Baritone sports a mahogany body, a fast bolt-on Thin "U" profile maple neck with a silky laurel fingerboard, a pair of Gretsch mini humbucking pickups, and a Bigsby-licensed vibrato tailpiece.

Mini humbuckers serve up classic Gretsch tone

When you want classic ’50s-era Gretsch tone, Sweetwater guitarists agree that you need real Gretsch humbuckers. That’s why Gretsch gave the G5260T Electromatic Jet Baritone a pair of Gretsch mini humbucking pickups. These humbuckers give you traditional Gretsch growl and grit, as well as deliver pristine clean tone when needed. In addition, master volume and tone controls provide exceptional tonal range and control, putting you in the driver’s seat as you explore your own style.

Smooth playability

The G5260T Electromatic Jet Baritone features a maple neck cut to a Thin "U" profile that players love for its comfort and incredible response. The 22 medium jumbo frets are ideal for single-note lines as well as playing chords up and down the neck. The laurel fingerboard sports iconic pearloid Neo-Classic thumbnail inlays that exude vintage Gretsch vibe. And equipped with an anchored Adjusto-Matic bridge and Bigsby-licensed vibrato tailpiece, you get great sustain and intonation, along with old-school pitch expression. Guitarists (and bassists) at Sweetwater dig the Gretsch G5260T Electromatic Jet Baritone. So will you.

Very nice guitar

I am not a guitar expert by any means, but this guitar is well made, I have yet to find a flaw in the finish or binding. It is beautiful and the pictures just don't do it justice. The frets are smooth and milled evenly. It does require a little more effort to intonate because of the string gauge - .14-.72, but it's not bad. I will probably replace these with .13-.72's when it comes time to restring.

I chose Gretsch because I own a Gretsch Electromatic Sparkle Jet from the early 2000's and I always loved the way that guitar felt in my hands. I am completely out of practice, not having picked up a guitar for at least 15 years now, and this guitar makes me WANT to play it. And of course, that Gretsch Sound...

The guitar is a little heavy but not too overwhelming. Balance is pretty good. The scale makes it easy to chord, even for my chunky fingers that don't always cooperate with what I'm trying to accomplish. Out of the box the action and intonation was perfect, just needed to tune it up a bit to get the B standard baritone tuning) and it was ready to go. It does stay in tune for normal playing but of course when you start messing around with the Bigsby it can throw it out of tune a bit. Not a big deal for me, I don't use it often or plan to use it often in my playing. But it's nice to have.

I really dig the sound. While it's not quite the "Gretsch Sound" you're going to see from the hollow body guitars with Filter'Tron's, it has a sound that is both twangy and rich at the same time. The highs are bright and clear, and the lows are more gritty and growly. I love the sound of the mids, clear and velvety. They just seem like they have more character than both single coil and humbuckers. It's really a unique sound. I will also say that the sustain on this guitar is incredible.

The only knock I have on this guitar is the die cast tuners. They are a little hard to turn but not too difficult. I will probably replace these down the road but overall I am thoroughly satisfied with this guitar.

I also wanted to mention that Sweetwater's service was incredible. They kept me informed throughout the entire buying process, I got pictures of my actual guitar before it was shipped, and a call from my sales engineer to introduce himself and ask if I had any questions. Fantastic! I will be buying another guitar as soon as I get better at playing and will look to Sweetwater first!
