Take a Trip Back to Fender's Golden Era

Boasting decade-specific style and sound, the Fender Vintera II '60s Stratocaster evokes the company's golden era but with a modern-day twist. This solidbody electric guitar is brimming with decade-specific appointments, including a '60s C-shaped neck, a vintage-radius rosewood fingerboard, and vintage-style '60s single-coil Strat pickups — it's the next best thing to discovering a carefully preserved classic. You'll revel in the Vintera II '60s Strat's vintage-style tuning machines and vintage-style synchronized tremolo. You also get parchment plastic knobs and a 3-ply mint green pickguard for original-era aesthetics. A vintage-tinted neck and a vintage-inspired color round out the impressive Vintera II '60s Stratocaster.

Classic construction

Who says they don't build 'em like they used to? The Vintera II '60s Stratocaster boasts a contoured double-cutaway body carved from a solid slab of alder — the balanced-sounding tonewood whose acoustic tonal characteristics have fueled some of the more enduring recordings of modern-day music. This Strat's maple neck features an ultra-comfortable '60s C shape, and its 7.25-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard is laden with 21 vintage-tall frets.

Teeming with '60s-era tones

Once the Strat aficionados here at Sweetwater plugged the Fender Vintera II '60s Stratocaster in, no one could put it down. This solidbody electric guitar's vintage-style '60s single-coil Strat pickups boast Alnico V magnets, plain enamel wire, and staggered pole pieces. You'll appreciate the bite that these pickups add to the traditional spanky Stratocaster sound. You also have a tried-and-true complement of controls at your disposal: a master volume knob, independent neck and middle pickup tone knobs, and modern 5-way switching.

Old-school hardware

You'll relish the careful thought Fender put into the Vintera II '60s Stratocaster's hardware. Its vintage-style tuning machines supply rock-solid tuning stability, and its 6-saddle, vintage-style synchronized tremolo with bent-steel saddles facilitates expressive bends, warbles, and dives. You also get parchment plastic control knobs and a 3-ply mint green pickguard to ensure a head-turning, period-accurate look.

1960 Vibe Strike with this Vintera II Stratocaster
I wanted a very traditional setup stratocaster with 3 single coil pick up configuration. Single coil setups are not my favorite setup, as I am a humbucker baby loving higain amps.
This guitar plays easily and very well. Neck feels very comfortable and is very musical as the intonation seems flawless. Thanks to the Sweetwater 55 point inspection and setup. The neck is slightly more sleek than that of a Fender Professional II model, making it easier to play.
I like the way this guitar personifies the feel and tones of the 1960's.

As the write up says, once started playing, it is hard to put this one down.
There is a particularly aggressive edge to each pickup when used separately. The middle pickup seems to be the most aggressive of the 3. The combined settings on switch positions 2 and 4 give a very familiar stratocaster tones.

I have tried this in a variety of different amp types. Of course, the antique Fender Pro Reverb makes this guitar sound rich a full bodied to the max. Excellent clean tones found here, along with a little bit of edge.
I was quite surprised when I tried it in some aggresive Marshall tube amps. You can reach a pretty good gain point, get great tone and the hum factor is acceptable.
While recording using a Marshall CODE 100 amp with programmed presets, I got some really aggressive tones and no hum due to noise blocking in the preset programs of the CODE 100 amp. I reached tones not usually expected from single coil setups.
There seems to be a wide range of guitar tones to be found using the 5 way switch and volume, and tone controls. Overall, a great guitar to play.

Fender Vintera 60s
This is my number one guitar. I love it. I love the weight, the feel, the pickups. Just awesome! The Vintera stratocasters are my favorites and I love Vintera pickups! Great blues and finger style guitar.
Amazing guitar with Rosewood fretboard
I've had this guitar for a few weeks now and it's amazing! Sounds great and neck is very comfortable. Fender have outdone themselves!
Music background: Hobbyist
Good strat tone
Bought the guitar few weeks ago, changed the strings to 10 plugged in and there it is, no compromise no thrill, just that quacks I was looking for, a good amount of output and clarity, waited some times to have back the rosewood, it's a little pricey but worth waiting, almost decided for the vintera 60 but the pau ferro ?!? Thanks to Sweetwater for the fast shipping and perfect guitar, stay in tune perfectly and couldn't beat the fenders neck, not too slim not too fat, super comfortable and fast
Great, but…
I have an old Vintera, and it is excellent. I thought the new version would be the same. I got a Vintera 50 s telecaster a while back ago. It was crazy noisy! I could not bond with it, so I returned it.
I gave the Vintera ii Stratocaster in sunburst a try because it seemed just different enough to be a fun guitar to have alongside my old Vintera. It is, with one exception. The pickups are really noisy. Maybe it is the way they are wound. Maybe it is just my inability to correct the settings on my amp, but I do know how to work a soldering iron. Thus, I decided to put a variety of Seymour Duncan single coil sized humbuckers in the guitar. At some point, I would have done this anyway because I can't leave well enough alone. I just did the mod way sooner. The guitar is impeccable in all other respects. Not sure if the pickups are a me problem, but they got changed. Someone else might love them. Despite all of that, this guitar is a keeper. I love that my guitar has vintage specs with modern pickups. I guess I like a little bit of an unorthodox set up. No matter what, this guitar will get
You noticed romantically! After that, you just have to run the risk of getting people to like your personality and "playing". I will enjoy this guitar. Maybe you will
Too.
Music background: Awesome
