Play the Preferred Guitar of a Jazz Legend!

The Ibanez JSM100 signature semi-hollow electric guitar gives you the same feel, features, and sound found in jazz legend John Scofield's prized instrument. Ibanez made a digitized reproduction of Scofield's guitar and applied the exact dimensions to the JSM100. It also features a large internal soundblock and a rigid top and body to help reject feedback. This beautiful instrument includes elegant appointments, great-sounding humbucking pickups, and a side-mounted output jack for more friendly amp cable placement. Play what a master guitarist preferst — the JSM100!

Looks, feels, and sounds like Scofield's favorite

Ibanez took great pains to re-create Scofield's original AS200AV, producing a digitized reproduction of its body and neck. When you pick up the JSM100, you're holding the exact dimensions of this legendary player's favorite axe. It also includes the master player's preferred "castle" headstock shape, beautiful pearl/abalone block inlays, and gold hardware.

Sound great while you fight feedback

The JSM100 may be a sight to behold, but it's not just a pretty face. Ibanez included a thick soundblock and a rigid top to give this guitar a very high resistance to feedback. While most semi-hollows would be howling at higher volumes, the JSM100 keeps you sounding smooth and in control of your tone. To provide the perfect blend of definition and warmth, Ibanez uses a half bone/half brass nut, and the two Super 58 humbucking pickups give you a classic, rich tone.

A jazz/funk/blues luminary

From his beginnings as a collaborator and sideman with Mingus, Miles and Gary Burton, through his solo work and more recent funk-oriented output with Martin, Medeski, Wood, guitarist John Scofield has blazed a fearless trail, moving effortlessly in and out of bop, fusion, rock, funk, blues and soul. Since becoming an Ibanez Signature artist in 2001, Scofield's trusted JSM100 has been at the ready, waiting for the next musical turn in the road. Says Scofield, "The JSM100 is a perfect hybrid of a solidbody and an archtop. I love my guitar. We've grown up together in this business. I do the thinking, but it does the talking. We're quite a pair."

Ibanez JSM10

When I ordered guitar it was backordered and when it arrived about 2 weeks later Damon at Sweetwater, had the guitar shipped overnight because I wanted to have for a gig on that weekend, So when it arrived I took out of box and tuned up and stared playing it and the guitar was setup perfectly and the tone is really good. It plays smooth and easy tuning keys are precise, and the 58 pickups sound tone wise as good as my Gibson MHS hum buckers
This guitar is a solid value purchase, Thanks You Sweetwater

Authentic

It's a wonderful guitar. It sounds amazing. Even unplugged, it's a lot of fun. I just wonder why Ibanez chose to put the output jack on the side and didn't include the coil tap switch. Seems odd since Scofield has that on his guitars and his output is on the top. It is configured that way on the JSM-10. It is a great instrument tho.

the Scofield Ibanez

I've always loved Ibanez since the late 70's. This one is the made in Japan model. played good out of the box when it arrived. I had it set up by a guy in Baltimore who advised the fret buzz was taken care of. Apparently Ibanez has floating frets which i wasn't aware of. He affixed them. The guitar plays great and its a very versatile. Instrument comparable to the Gibson ES335. I like it better since the input jack is not located on the body like the Gibson. I play jazz on the guitar and you get that Scofield sound by using the bridge pickup with the tone on 1 or 2. highly recommended. Of course Sweetwater was great throughout.

As good as they say it is

The other reviews are absolutely correct. It would be hard to improve on this. It's better than and ES-335 in my opinion. People seem to get hung up on brand names. The internet "echo chambers" are largely responsible for certain stereo types (as well as inflated prices). This is indeed a work of art and I'm sure the Japanese luthiers feel a great sense of pride with each one of these that they turn out.

For me, I love the compound radius neck and jumbo frets. This is the only model that has those. As a result, the playability is amazing. The pickups sounds great. I also love the color and grain pattern (I've never been much of an orangey sunburst guy).

A Professional Semi-Hollow Guitar!

This Ibanez JSM100 guitar from Sweetwater has everything a professional semi-hollow guitar demands: tone, playability, versatility, vibe, all there! This is my second Ibanez JSM100 – ignorantly sold the first one for a 'shiny object' ES guitar. Owned a few very high-end 335's, other high-profile semi-hollows, even a couple cost efficient JSM10's since, but finally came back to the JSM100.
The Ibanez JSM100 controls are easy to use, intuitive and solid (smooth & linear), and the tonal palette in every pickup position is distinct and useful! Plus, I prefer the bottom-load jack. The JSM100 build quality is superb as you might expect! Not sure what else to say except this is quite easily a much more expensive guitar.
