Fodera designed the Monarch Select to be your go-to bass. To that end, every component of the Monarch Select was meticulously selected by Fodera's elite luthiers using real-world feedback from Fodera artists. The Monarch Select features an alder body topped with stunning flame maple. The 3-piece hard rock maple neck is capped with an old-growth pau ferro fingerboard. The electronics package includes two Fodera/Seymour Duncan Dual Coil pickups and a Fodera Standard 3-band preamp. Sweetwater bass players savor the Monarch Select's tight low end, liquid midrange, and the perfect amount of high end — fat, punchy, balanced tone that'll grace any track, onstage or in the studio.

Superior electronics
Proprietary Fodera/Seymour Duncan Dual Coil pickups have been widely acclaimed for their period-correct vintage single-coil tone and for providing a focused, punchy tone with a natural and smooth upper mids in dual-coil mode. With its unique pickup placement, the Monarch Select can capture '70s-style bridge pickup growl while also nailing the full-bodied sound and attack needed for slap-style playing. Matched with a specially tuned version of Fodera's Standard preamp, the Monarch Select’s EQ frequency centers were chosen to compliment the natural tone of the instrument while still allowing tonal flexibility.
Exceptional comfort and ergonomics
With its slinky body contours, the Monarch Select is an amazingly comfortable bass. Its thinner body profile allows it to be lighter while providing exceptional comfort whether you're playing standing or seated. Additionally, the Monarch Select uses Fodera's Dovetail neck joint, which delivers the punchy tone of a bolt-on neck with the comfort and unimpeded upper fret access of a neck-through.
