Big Value for the Modern Bassist

With its aggressive styling and sterling tone, the Ibanez RGB300 delivers big value for modern rock and metal bassists. The 4-string RGB300 is built on the bones of Ibanez's popular Talman and SR series basses, featuring powerful electronics and a distinctive angular design that will appeal to stage players across genres. The Ibanez RGB300's gothic arches, black hardware, and sharktooth inlays give this bass a mean look in any performance setting. It comes loaded with a set of punchy Dynamix P/J pickups and a versatile 2-band EQ to help you shape your sound. The lightweight poplar body is well matched by its premium maple neck and hardware, which makes it easy to lean into the RGB300's aggressive stance with this bass slung over your shoulder. If you're looking for modern visuals and meaty tone in a versatile 4-string design, bassists at Sweetwater recommend the Ibanez RGB300.

Big tone from Dynamix P/J pickups

The RGB300's Dynamix P and J pickups bring you the sound of some of the most famous bass players in history. From fat, thumping rock and R&B tones to a modern metal grind, the RGB300's Dynamix pickups give you a wide range of sonic territory to explore.

Versatile 2-band EQ

The RGB300 features a master volume and pickup blend control, as well as separate bass and treble controls. Just get your basic tone dialed in, and use the 2-band active EQ to help cement your place in the mix. Once familiar, you’ll be able to tweak the tone of your bass for any musical setting in seconds.

Rated 5/5

Beautiful bass for the price

This is my first bass. My rating is actually about a 4.5 (there isn't a half star option though). I love the color. I love the fret spacing and it stays in tune pretty well. That said, it has the same 2-band eq as the lower-priced Talman bass. The pickups are a tad hot with the EQ turned up, so I usually don't turn them up over maybe a quarter of the way. I have several effects on the amp I use though and can always dial in a sound that I love. Other than that one gripe, it's really a beautiful bass for the $$. There are several YouTube videos on how to get an upgraded EQ that includes an off switch and how to properly install if that ends up being a deal breaker for anyone. The neck has a very solid feel and the fret spacing is generous. Honestly, I love this bass. I have D'Addario Chromes on it because I really love the sound. I have been covering a lot of 60s and 70s stuff and it really makes the bass lines sound legit. In my personal opinion, this is a fine bass for any beginning or intermediate player. As always, I knew it would go through Sweetwater's 55-point inspection and I had it setup by the Sweetwater Workshop. So, the finish and setup were flawless! I love Sweetwater and have been a fan since I lived in Fort Wayne years ago and they had a different location. They always go above and beyond for musicians at every level. Rob Amaral Has been my sales engineer and I know I have probably given him fits with all of my questions but I super appreciate him and the entire Sweetwater team!
