This Handy, Stylish Gadget Puts You in Charge of Levels

TC Electronic’s Level Pilot C gives you handy control of your stereo volume levels. Rather than having to lean way forward to grab a tiny volume knob, let the TC Electronic Level Pilot C give you a convenient, great-looking desktop volume solution. It’s sleekly designed with a slip-free rubberized bottom plate — and it requires no extra power supply. Just connect it up via its fully balanced 3.5mm jack connectors, and you’ll be ready to make precise, high-resolution volume adjustments. It’s all analog-controlled after the final D/A conversion, so you get the utmost quality with Level Pilot C.

Sleek, convenient volume controller

Put your system’s stereo volume control within easy reach, with the TC Electronic Level Pilot C. This high-quality, sleek device is designed to give you full control for any active monitoring setup, all the time. In fact, it works as a standalone analog level control, free of your computer, so you don’t have to wait on the computer being booted, as in many DAW setups.

High resolution for the finest audio quality

At Sweetwater, we want our audio signals to be of the highest quality possible throughout the digital signal chain — and so do you. Yet, when you control the level digitally before the final D/A conversion, you actually reduce the resolution of the conversion. The Level Pilot C allows you to control the volume levels after the D/A conversion, so you get the maximum conversion resolution.

TC Electronic Level Pilot C Volume Controller Features:

  • Desktop speaker volume controller with ergonomic rotary control knob
  • High-resolution computer-independent analog level control
  • 3.5mm jack connectors
  • No power supply required
  • Smooth, ergonomic feel
  • Y-split cable for a clean and organized workspace
  • Rubberized tight-grip bottom plate
  • Compact design for easy placement
  • 3-year warranty
  • Designed and engineered in Denmark

Terrible marketing, Incredible Great Product!

I'm not blaming Sweetwater, TC has done nothing to help people understand, #1 What this really is? and #2 What it does for you?

The signal path on this is full stereo, left and right. There is only one knob which controls left and right simultaneously.

I use a laptop Mac for watching videos, writing, checking news, everything except music (I have a separate DAW for my music creations). I normally use the headphone output to drive a stereo Bose system that is augmented with a Presonus subwoofer. Using the laptop software controls for volume control on my speakers gets very annoying and tiring, I yearned for a mechanical knob I could turn to mute things I don't want to hear easily. Enter the TC "Speaker Volume Controller".

This is a very high quality, weighted, rotary knob that sits on the desk next to the laptop, it turns easily and it's your new Master Volume control. Setting it up properly is a key issue. After connecting all the cables, turn down the source volume and then turn the TC volume up all the way. Now bring up the source volume to a nice comfortable loud level. Finally, back the TC off slightly to reduce the speaker volume to a very comfortable level. When a commercial or advertisement comes on you can grab this TC Knob and turn it down FAST!

There are two TC models to choose from, this review is for the 1/8" TRS stereo version which has a TRS for the stereo input and another for the stereo output, input and output are both 1/8" male TRS plugs, keep that in mind as you plan your cabling. The cables attached to the TC knob are high quality and plenty long. I had a female 1/8" TRS to two-quarter inch unbalanced male plug adaptor in stock so I could run the TC knob output directly into the stereo input on my Presonus subwoofer.

The operation of this knob is so intuitive, even my non-techie best friend instantly understood the operation of this, it's an analog volume control right on your desktop. Easy to use, easy to understand, compact, budget priced. This a great way to have an analog volume control on any PC or Mac or anything really that uses an 1/8" plug system.

I also own the XLR version of this and it is also awesome and a huge problem solver, I use it as a master volume on my stereo home theater sound system but that's a different review ;-)

If you need to add a mechanical analog volume control to an unbalanced stereo line level output this TC volume control is a good choice.

Exactly what I was looking for

I just recently completed army home rehearsal space and finally stepped up my monitors for my laptop computer and iPad.

No fancy console or interface, just the computer or tablet.

While bass playing to the computer metronome or recorded music, I constantly fumbled with the volume buttons on the computer while jamming out.

Hitting mute, or the wrong keys was frustrating.

Needed something to make quick accurate adjustments.

This knob is great. Super easy instal, built extremely well and worth the price.

Just a volume knob, nothing more.......perfect.

The guys at Sweetwater we're excellent; Shipped out in time for my b-day.

Volume Controller

I connect this volume control to my iPad and PA system. It allows me to control the volume with minute adjustments on the fly! It's heavy duty, doesn't slip around and is really cool looking! It works like charm for me. I highly recommend it?
