GM1500 gooseneck mounts
We’ve tried the gamut of piano-miking methods here at Sweetwater, and we’ve found the DPK2015 to be among the most straightforward — and sonically effective — solutions around. At the core of this sublime setup, you’ll find two of DPA’s outstanding GM1500s, which combine magnet mounts, goosenecks, and shockmounts to ensure trouble-free attachment and spot-on mic placement. Based on the Rycote Lyre suspension system, the GM1500 offers extreme flexibility, permitting you to mount the included 2015 small-diaphragm condenser mics facing either upside or downside. Moreover, you can adjust the poles by pushing them back and forth.
SBO400 stereo boom
The DPA DPK2015 includes an ultra-lightweight SBO400 stereo boom, enabling you to mount the 2015 small-diaphragm condenser mics quickly and easily, inside or outside a grand piano, with the lid open or closed. Also based on the Rycote Lyre suspension system, the SBO400 permits precise, repeatable mic positioning. Beyond that, it allows for unobtrusive placement — a must for discreet onstage deployment.
