Unbeatable

These mics are unbeatable for live acoustic music. If I had three thumbs, I would give it that. They are also great in the studio on cabs and drums as well.

One of the best stage condensers available

I’m a singer/song-writer who plays solo and with an acoustic band. I also provide a PA for acoustic musicians traveling through about once a month. For years I’ve used an AT AE3300 and a Senn e865, and more recently an AKG EB535 C on vocals in appropriate environments. These are good condenser mics. In most situations they bring more than enough to the table.

But they are not linear, and as I’ve gotten more and more experience I’ve been yearning for better. I don’t want hype or bloom, I sure don’t want sizzle, I want as little proximity effect as can be had, I want distant and off-axis sound to affect the volume but not the tone, and I want it to be easy enough to setup on a stage with monitors.

The Miktek PM5 delivers. It’s as close to invisible as I’ve heard and in the same league as the Neumann KMS104.
