Great Snare

Easy to tune - sounds great tuned up or down.

Super Drum

This drum is the most versatile snare I have. No matter if you tune it up or down it sounds amazing and has the best characteristics of that particular tuning that you are going for. When you tune it down, it has that fat, deep sound that's never thuddy, and when you crank it up it has that pop you are looking for as well as keeping the snares really snappy. If you loosen the snares on any tuning it, you get that nice spread. It's really easy to tune and I haven't bothered to put any different heads on it other than the stock ambassadors. It's truly one of the great snares out there. I have 8 snare drums and if I could only use one, this would be the one.

Outstanding

This snare is nothing less than what I"ve come to expect from Yamaha drums. I received the Solid Black model and the fit and finish are exceptional. Die cast hoops, hook lugs and an excellent strainer are the things that really popped out when unboxing it. I received mine the day of a show and I was eager to take it out so I changed the stock batter head and tuned it up. Later at the show I was really moved by the body and response of the drum, throughout a few tuning ranges. This thing is a beast!
