Eloy Casagrande: from Santo Andre to Slipknot
Hailing from the Santo Andre area of São Paulo, Brazil, drummer Eloy Casagrande’s rhythmic dedication began at the age of seven and didn’t take long to reach international acclaim, winning Modern Drummer magazine’s global “Undiscovered Drummer Contest” in 2005. As a longtime devotee of rock and metal, Eloy’s intended path was evident from the beginning, driving him to interminable sessions and stage work with a variety of groups and artists, most notably including 13 years behind the kit with metal heavyweight Sepultura before being asked to take the throne with Slipknot in 2024. On top of his own instrumental project, the duo of Casagrande & Hanysz, and countless worldwide workshops and masterclasses along the way, Eloy has solidified himself as a true pacesetter in modern drumming.
