Great For iOS

I was truly impressed with this product. It comes with a huge suite of quality software. It also works great with iOS! I highly suggest this keyboard to all musicians.

Nice.... But

It's incredibly ridiculous that this thing comes with a 2 foot cable for PC (USB).

I understand that the I device cable can be short, but for PC, it needs to be much longer. Minimum 4 feet.

Because most people using a PC for recording likely have it running back through the desk and down to the PC.

Another issue is I can't install the firmware. It fails every time.

Also, it's really annoying that companies don't send disks with software anymore. People like me who are rural and on metered internet can't download massive gigabit VSTs that are 'bundled' with the unit. I'm using up all my hotspot data.

I'd gladly pay an extra 5 or 10 bucks for actual disks!


I'll be forced, like most people, to try to source a longer priority mini midi to USB cable.

That aside, the unit it nice. The pads are easy. Everything works so far with bandlab.

update to proprietary cables

....this is an update to the above review, to resolve the story. After opening a support ticket with IK Multimedia, and testing a few connections and reporting back, they deemed the DIN to lightning cable was faulty and sent a replacement. I feel that they stood by there equipment and did the right thing. Thank you IK and Sweetwater.

Buy for the Software

Must admit except for the actual Key Bed, this is one hard keyboard to program. There are so many levels, not identified correctly, that you need to use to just play a note. Now, I purchased this because of the software package that they included, that actually costs less than if you just purchased the software titles on their own.. Complete SampleTank 3! Syntronik Instruments, even a Ableton DAW if you are just beginning. So it was worth the $ I paid. If you want SampleTank 3, Syntronik Instruments and you already own Miraslav Orchestra (25 key), this is a no brainer deal...! Gotta admit it is a very rare thing to purchase hardware because of its software added package, but this certainly is the case with my purchase! Just add the numbers up of the software on IKMultimedia and see for yourself. Downloads are slow, not easy to open, but that"s just IKMultimedia being IKMultimedia. Have fun!

proprietary cables are poor quality

I purchased this unit about 6-9 months ago, have used it about 12 hours total and store in shipping package when not in use. I tried to record over the weekend and had a really loud clicking coming over the headphones. I started a ticket with their website, but either their proprietary DIN to lightning cable or the proprietary PSU (that was an extra purchase) is not functioning properly. Still waiting to hear what they are going to do about it, so IDK how this story will end...... So far not happy and can not find myself recommending this for recording via an Ipad.

The iRig Keys I/O 25 is a work-horse and is packed with great benefits. The 25 full-sized, velocity-sensitive keys allows for inspiration to flow. Within minutes of plugging it in, I was recording new tracks and creating music. Another source of inspiration on the iRig Keys is the 2 touch-sensitive sliders. I don’t consider myself a strong keyboard player, but wow, the sliders really inspired and empowered me to create. Hands-down, I have never experienced a controller that has impacted my recording and writing process like the iRig Keys I/O 25.
