Precision Stereo Mastering EQ with Amazing Flexibility
The elysia xfilter Mastering Edition is a handcrafted, 4-band Class A analog mastering EQ, with both channels linked for stereo operation. The xfilter Mastering Edition delivers a beautifully open sound, with solid punch and direct transient reproduction, and it is incredibly easy to use. Optimized for mastering, the four bands provide a precise boost/cut range of ±5dB, with stepped potentiometers for reliable settings recall. Unique features include high and low shelving bands that can be switched to high- and lowpass filters with resonance control, and elysia’s proprietary Passive Massage circuit. The xfilter Mastering Edition uses only the finest computer-selected components with extremely low tolerances for perfect stereo channel tracking, giving you the superior sonics of a Class A mastering equalizer at an incredible value.
Unique resonant filters and Passive Massage circuit
This impressive analog EQ offers amazing flexibility. It offers high and low shelf bands you can switch to 12dB/octave high- and lowpass filters with resonance control. There are two bell filters with narrow and wide Q for the midrange frequencies as well as additional passive LC stages (elysia’s proprietary Passive Massage circuit) with shielded coils to refine treble frequencies. This special circuit accents a selected frequency without boosting the complete high-frequency spectrum, which can prevent harshness or an undesirable perceptive shift towards the treble. You simply must hear for yourself how the Passive Massage finesses your high end while bringing out the sparkle!
True stereo operation
Using an analog equalizer on a stereo bus can be a tricky proposition, as very few units offer the possibility of linking their two mono channels for true stereo processing. So you endlessly fiddle with knobs as you endure the tedious task of matching the settings for both channels as effectively as possible. The problem is exacerbated when the EQ does not have stepped controls for reference. The elysia xfilter Mastering Edition solves all these issues.
Computer-selected components for precise channel matching
The market is flooded with compressors that can be linked for stereo operation — why not EQs? The answer is component tolerances. Obviously, you want the two linked channels to behave in exactly the same fashion, but the component tolerances (particularly of potentiometers and capacitors) are not tight enough to accomplish this. With the xfilter Mastering EQ, elysia solves the problem by using computer-selected dual- and quad-layer pots as well as special low-tolerance caps. Mastering engineers at Sweetwater know that every serious mastering studio needs a great analog equalizer. Put the elysia xfilter Mastering Edition EQ to work in your studio — and prepare to be amazed!
