Eye-popping Good Looks, Tried-and-True Jackson Quality

The Jackson X Series Spectra Bass SBXQ IV packs plenty of punch — and sleek looks to boot — with its poplar body, quilt maple top, maple neck, and active humbucking pickups. Upgraded with a HiMass bridge, two Jackson pickups, and coil-split circuitry, the SBXQ IV makes it easy to dial in the perfect tone for any gig or recording session. For a commanding feel, the bass's Jackson Speed neck profile is topped with a smooth compound-radius laurel fingerboard and jumbo frets for effortless playability. Plus, the addition of a quilt maple top and the stylish glossy finish are sure to turn heads everywhere. If you're looking for a seriously gig-worthy bass at a great price, then look no further than the Jackson X Series Spectra Bass SBXQ IV.

Compound-radius fingerboard for ultimate playability

The SBXQ IV features a 12–16-inch compound-radius fingerboard for ultimate playability. The laurel fingerboard is rounder near the nut for holding down the groove. As you head up to the solo range of the instrument, the radius flattens out for easier runs and string bends.

Powerful electronics let you tweak your tone to perfection

Jackson stocks the SBXQ IV with two medium-output active humbucking pickups, positioned to capture the fullest tone possible. With coil splitting and 3-band EQ, you can sculpt your tone any way you see fit. Whether you're recording soulful R&B or trying to cut through a speed metal mix onstage, the SBXQ IV has the tone shaping power you need. Plus, the active electronics provide plenty of output to drive long cable runs, your effects chain, and your amp.

Built with unbeatable Jackson quality

Jackson's X Series incorporates Jackson's three-plus decades of instrument-building expertise, and the SBXQ IV is no exception. You get resonant tonewoods, high-output electronics, and a fast neck with a silky-smooth fingerboard, all at a price that belies its performance. Many guitarists and bassists at Sweetwater — and across the globe — are fiercely loyal Jackson players. Check out the SBXQ IV and you'll know why.

Jackson X Series Spectra Bass SBXQ IV Features:

  • Poplar body with stunning quilt maple top
  • Comfortable maple neck with Jackson Speed neck profile
  • Smooth laurel fingerboard and easily playable 12–16-inch compound radius
  • Pair of Jackson active humbuckers delivers sweet low end with just the right amount of mids and high
  • 2-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting
  • 3-band active EQ for extensive tone shaping
  • Blend control and volume control with push-pull selector

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

Note: While demo items from Jackson do not include the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation warranty, you can shop with confidence knowing that this item is backed and covered by Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Great Bass

This bass has always interested me, but it falls into the "not really my taste" kind of instrument. I knew that it would do anything and everything musically. It just did not check off the vintage vibe. I got over that and bought it. IT is a solid instrument. The controls are backward (meaning the knobs turn the other way and the bass is first on the pre-amp. It is simply a quirk of the instrument. The neck is fast and easy to play. I really like the compound radius. I have absolutely no opinion about the roasted whatever type of wood it is fret board. If it did not say on the specs, I would have assumed it was rosewood. Go figure. The photos do not do this bass justice. The finish looks more like a blue and green dragon than whatever the pictures on this site show. Finally, I like the headstock. Jackson headstocks have always been a bit too pointy for me. This one is more squared off and has a simple J for the logo. This is a great instrument.
