Create Bass Lines with Your Feet

If you have a Hammond XPK-200GL, you can create engaging bass lines with your feet. Use this 20-note MIDI pedalboard to trigger your sound module or virtual instrument of choice, or take advantage of the XPK-200GL's five built-in sounds. The XPK-200GL is equipped with advanced MIDI functionality including MIDI Merge, along with Auto Power Off, Velocity Curve, Master Tune, and more. And everything is packed into a convenient, stylish design. If your band is missing a bassist, the Hammond XPK-200GL is a great way to fill the gap.

Tons of features in a convenient, stylish design

Despite its compact form factor, the XPK-200GL is loaded with great features. You can set the XPK-200GL's MIDI channel to whatever you want, so it's easy to integrate it into your existing rig. MIDI Merge allows MIDI data received by the XPK-200GL to be merged with its generated MIDI information and then sent out of its MIDI Out jack. Auto Power Off conserves energy by powering the unit down after 30 minutes of sitting idle. Velocity Curve determines how notes respond to key velocity. Master Tune changes the tuning calibration of the built-in Sound Generator. You can also gain real-time control over the XPK-200GL with a Hammond Expression Pedal (sold separately — mounting hardware included).

Five built-in sounds for standalone operation

While the Hammond XPK-200GL is a stellar MIDI controller, its internal Sound Generator makes it a great standalone instrument as well. Amongst its built-in sounds are an electric organ, fingered bass, pipe organ, synth bass, E-bass, and double bass. Musicians at Sweetwater have found lots of uses for the XPK-200GL's built-in sounds (they're invaluable if your bass player calls in sick).

Hammond delivers legendary keyboard tones

It's virtually impossible to think of Hammond without having the sound of the legendary B3 organ float through your mind. First introduced in 1935, few instruments have had as huge of an impact on music history as Hammond's B3. Today, Hammond digitally re-creates their tonewheel sound with the XK series organs, complete with B3 presets and drawbars. In addition, Hammond also offers a MIDI system with real drawbars for achieving those signature organ sounds with your existing MIDI keyboard setup. Now you can take the classic sound of Hammonds everywhere.

Built-in Sounds Include:

Great pedal for Hammond organ

Great pedal for Hammond organ. It is annoying to have to crawl to the floor to turn on and off. I am also not fond of the fact that the pedal is not curved like the pedals that are attached to my A-102. This takes some adjustment. The sound is great though and once you get adjusted the pedals are easy to use. Not to mention the ability to change the sound in a much more granular way than you can on a classic Hammond organ.

Great upgrade from XPK-100

I would have given 5 stars except for one design error, unless you don't mind moving the bench and crawling across the pedals to reach behind the unit to power it up.
They chose to add a non-latching power button on this model, which means you can no longer just power-up all your gear from one power strip switch.
Other than that, it works well and gives me more bass to play with.

some unpublished things

This pedalboard solves several problems I have been struggling with for awhile (portability, bass tone generator). But there are a few things not in the description:
1. It is monophonic, so you can't (for instance) play fifths with both feet (yes, I do occasionally)
2. The pedals are long enough to play heel-toe (yes, I do)
3. The 'plucked' attack for the two string basses does not trigger when you play legato (heel-toe). It is almost impossible to play fast bass lines where every note is detached. Also, this is not true to how string basses can be played.
4. The only thing stopping the travel of the 'white' wood pedals is the felt strip on the bar under the middle of the wood pedals. The rubber bumper on the end of the pedal does not touch the floor when the pedal is fully depressed. The wood is attached to a metal bar whose underside will dig into the felt strip over time and eventually cut into it. This causes the metal underside of the pedal to
(a) travel farther than other pedals and
(b) make a loud clacking sound.
My solution is to place a quarter-inch piece of wood (3" wide, 31" long) under the rubber bumpers on the pedal ends so the pedal travel stops before digging into the felt strip.

Sorry...but no.

Purchased this set to "update" my tone-less XPK 200L PEDALS.
First, the built in tones are, well...meh.
Next, while volume, cutoff and release are moderately adjustable, there is no sustain - big deal for shoeless left footers like myself!
Finally, if you have an expression pedal built for the original XPK, it won"t fit properly on this one, as the holes are drilled wrong.
