Roaring 4-string Tone for All Your Playing Needs

With its high-quality construction and full-throttle sound, the Jackson X Series Concert Bass CBXNT DX IV is perfect for use across a variety of genres. A classic set of P/J pickups produce a muscular and rich bass tone, which is tweakable with an onboard 3-band EQ. A graphite-reinforced Jackson Speed maple neck with compound-radius laurel fingerboard marries sturdy construction with light-speed playability, perfect for sliding your fingers effortlessly up and down the bass’s 24 frets. Plus, a Jackson Bass Bacher IV neck-through-body hardtail bridge delivers a rapid attack and robust sustain, the perfect accent to round out this heavy-duty workhorse.

Bring the thunder with P/J pickups and a 3-band EQ

The CBXNT DX IV was designed with rock and metal players in mind, but don’t think of it as a one-trick pony: high-quality electronics and tone shaping options enable this bass for a wide range of playing styles. The timeless combination of P- and J-style pickups deliver boomy lows and thunderous punch, exploding with mammoth sound and gritty character. When paired with Jackson’s 3-band EQ, the CBXNT DX IV’s sound can be shaped for adding that extra bite to cut through the mix or the girth and growl necessary for a thick, aggressive bass tone.

Expert playability, supreme comfort

Jackson’s long history of top-notch quality and comfort is epitomized in the CBXNT DX IV’s sleek, speedy design and easy playability. The 12–16-inch compound-radius fingerboard is rounder near the nut for holding down the groove, flattening out further up the bass’s 24 frets for fast runs and string bends. Sweetwater bassists couldn’t stop playing the CBXNT DX IV’s maple neck with Jackson Speed neck profile, which is geared for technical players and reinforced with graphite for enhanced durability and sustain. It’s safe to say that picking up the CBXNT DX IV is easy; however, with its expert playability and supreme comfort, putting it down will take serious effort.

Jackson X Series Concert Bass CBXNT DX IV Features:

  • Poplar body provides a solid, balanced tonal base
  • Classic double-cutaway shape for easy upper-fret access
  • Timeless P/J pickups deliver punch and attitude
  • Active 3-band EQ supplies you with endless tone-sculpting options
  • Maple Jackson Speed neck and laurel fingerboard supply a lifetime of rock-solid performance

A drop dead beautiful Bass.

You could argue I'm still in the honeymoon phase with this Bass but as my first, and hopefully only, bass I can say I'm am absolutely satisfied. It sounds and feels amazing, and the color? Rocket Red? Pictures don't do it justice, it's radiant!

The reason I chose this bass over others is looks. I wanted a Ric 4001 but that's a lot of money. The bass really pops with the color, look, and Jackson's headstock.

Also I can see the pickup cover/guard getting in the way with playing but I've found it kind of useful as a rest for my picking hand so I've kept it on. When I do finger strumming, I don't have a much issue with finding an anchor point.

Love this guitar

This is my first Jackson guitar. It is the third bass guitar that I own. It has quickly become my favorite because it's comfortable to play and can create so many different tones.

Whole Lotta Bass For The Buck

Jackson really did their homework on this one. Bought this 6 months ago. Pretty much what you'd get if you put a Fender PB&J pickup set in a Rickenbacker. Structurally this thing rings like a bell, and the electronics deliver that resonance to the amp. Plays like butter and plays in tune all the way up the neck. Neck has a squished D profile, and fretboard radius is flatter than standard Fender. Body is smaller and lighter than a Fender. The people who made it must really care because there's real craftsmanship here. Only hickey I could find was a slight thick spot in the finish on the back of the neck. Batteries last a long time. The vintage style pickup cover does nothing but get in the way-took it off about 5 minutes after I played it the first time (same as with old style Fender basses). Stap buttons are oversized-once you get a strap on, it won't be coming off. Easier to put the strap on by taking off the buttons and installing from the bottom, then screwing buttons back on.

Sonically, all of the classic bass sounds are there. Controls take a little time to learn to use, but there are a lot of sounds here.
Music background: 55 years experience. Classic rock and blues, some country and jazz. Songwriter and recording artist. Sideman on bass and guitar.
