You get four Xenyx mic preamps on the first four channels, plus an additional four stereo channels for line-level sources. The X1622USB helps you sound your best too, with one-knob compression and 3-band EQs with sweepable mids. Best of all, you can easily record the stereo output of the X1622USB to your computer via USB - it even comes with a suite of free recording and podcasting software.

Sound-sculpting features

Live sound engineers know the value of a quality compressor. The Behringer Xenyx X1622USB mixer makes compressing easy, featuring four channels, each with one-knob compression. Just set your signal levels, then adjust the compressor to taste, making signal-level management easier than ever. A 24-bit multi-effects processor gives you the power to add professional touches to your mix. Reverb, delay, echo, chorus, and more let you add that finishing touch to vocals and mixes.

Flexible routing

The Xenyx X1622USB mixer makes it easy to send your audio to multiple destinations. It's great for setting up custom headphone mixes for recording in your home studio. Set your main levels where they need to be for recording, then use the aux sends on each channel to set up a custom monitor mix that can be sent to a headphone amp.

USB recording and playback

The Xenyx X1622USB's computer connectivity is a helpful addition, both in the studio and on stage. In your studio, you can record the stereo output of the X1622USB to virtually any recording software, and you can also play back audio from your computer through the mixer. For live use, the X1622USB is an easy way to mix and record the show at the same time - just take your laptop and hit record before the show starts. It's also a great way to add backing tracks to your performance, by routing computer playback to the main outputs along with the live mix.

Behringer Xenyx X1622USB USB Mixer Features:
  • Lots of input options at a budget-friendly price
  • Channels 1-4 each feature one-knob compression
  • 3-band EQ with sweepable mids on each channel
  • 24-bit multi-FX processor
  • USB connection for stereo computer recording
The Behringer Xenyx X1622USB has a ton of features at an easy-to-handle price.

What is Demo Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call a "demo" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

What demo means to us is that we've had it out of the box, or maybe it was in a customer's hands for a few days and isn't "factory fresh" as a result. Every demo item we sell has Sweetwater's 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty, and has been tested and verified up to "new" specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it's in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Demo item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Fabulous Find

Our open mic performers LOVE this mixer. So many options and sweet sound. Haven't explored how to use the USB port yet but the musicians are excited about it!

X1622USB Mixer

We do an on line live radio program and this is exactly what was needed. This replaced two older mixers that were used together. The X1622 has all the capacity needed and was the perfect size for the area that was available. Looking forward of trouble free service from this unit.

Works like a charm

Used this at last night's open mic (June 15, 2023) We were able to use the first three channels for mics and two of the line inputs for guitar inputs. The key item was to have Aux available for the floor monitor on the stage to provide the singers with better sound to hear themselves. We used just a tad bit of reverberation from the effects option to enhance the averall sound. Just what the doctor ordered at a reasonable price.

Dependable

I have 4 different models of Behringer mixers.. A couple of them are 20 years old and still work every time I use them.. This one is no different.. Works really well... Good sound and good control.. Well worth the money.

Clean, versatile solution for home studio

I like to experiment, and the X1622USB is proving to be a valuable tool. Plenty of I/O and routing options for a couple of hardware synths, various mic sources, electric guitar, an outboard compressor and an effects module. Send/return to the latter hardware can be done in several ways. Currently I'm using the SUB 1-2 bus to feed discrete stereo to the effects unit, returning it through a stereo channel for tonal control, then combining that with the internal effects for even more sonic fun.

The internal effects have fairly limited parameter adjustment, but on the upside, for the most part they sound really good. I do not hesitate to record using these, especially some of the reverbs and echo.

Audio quality is excellent and noise floor dead quiet at reasonable levels, which is important because everything in my setup is analog until it reaches the excellent DACs in the DAW machine. Since I don't use the USB functions I can't comment on that, except to note in response to another review that incoming USB can indeed be brought into the main mix by first assigning USB to the Control Room bus, then cabling the Control Room outputs to a stereo input channel (or a pair of monos).

Presto, gain control, EQ and FX on incoming USB.

Speaking of channel EQs ... I LOVE the sound of these. In their adverts Behringer calls them "musical", and I have to agree. It's hard to describe, but cranking the highs does not result in a grating edge, nor does cranking the bass overinflate the bottom end. Combined with the sweepable mid-range, this makes for some ear-pleasing EQ.

Other functions I like: solo PFL (crucial for setting proper gain), pre-fader option on AUX1, onboard power supply with actual on/off switch, and the one-knob compressors on channels 1-4 which while not super precise come in very handy on some sources.

I am deducting half a star for two reasons. First, the volume control for the Control Room bus also and simultaneously controls the headphone output. They should be separated. Second, the headphone output is quite powerful, such that my 32 ohm headphones are very loud even at 20% volume. I solved this with an attenuator, but more usable range in that volume control would be better.

Those are minor issues though. I am overall very pleased with this board. It feels well made, firm knobs and switches, efficient layout for studio work, nice appearance. Excellent piece of gear.
