Exquisite Tonewoods Meet PRS Performance
Tucked away in an upstairs corner of the PRS factory are racks filled with extraordinary tonewoods. Mahogany, maple, rosewood, ebony, swamp ash, korina — you name it. This is the PRS Wood Library. It is from these premium tonewoods that Wood Library guitars like this one are built. This limited-edition left-handed PRS Wood Library Custom 24 features a stunning quilt maple 10-Top, a rich and resonant mahogany body, a torrefied figured maple neck, and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The Custom 24’s incredible Pattern Thin neck is fast enough for ripping solos, but substantial enough to support rhythm playing and chords. Two 59/09 pickups deliver lush, defined, and dynamic humbucking elegance, merging vintage-style humbucker warmth with modern PRS pickup articulation. Year after year, Sweetwater players who demand top-tier performance and extra frets on the fingerboard turn to the PRS Custom 24.

Bright and snappy figured maple neck
On many of PRS’ most classic designs, a mahogany neck is all but a prerequisite — for good reason, too, as it’s served as one of the guitar’s premier tonewoods since the instrument was first electrified! However, since the PRS master luthiers are always up for a bit of tonewood experimentation, they’ve spec’d this Wood Library Custom 24 with a gorgeous torrefied maple neck. Why? Maple is already one of the sturdiest tonewoods commonly utilized for guitar necks, and the process of torrefying the timber — essentially baking out any excess moisture — results in a neck with simply unmatched stability. Lastly, it’s all topped off with an immaculate Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, beaming with Old School Paua Birds inlays.
Prestigious hardware
Since 1985, PRS guitars have taken extreme pride in their exceptional quality, which is evident in every inch of the Wood Library Custom 24. Its hardware is no exception. Combining the intonation and tuning stability of a hardtail with the expressive capabilities of a traditional vibrato bridge, the PRS Patented Tremolo is designed for maximum tonal transfer between the hardware and woods. The result is a great tone and stable tuning performance. PRS Phase III locking tuners ooze elegance and class, with high-tolerance pegs, large buttons, an open back, and a closed housing. Restringing is easy, as the locking tuners clip the string end for you, so you’ll spend much less time tuning up and more time playing.
Pattern Thin neck profile
PRS’ Pattern Thin neck is a multipurpose neck that’s built for utility — not compromise. The Pattern Thin neck is slim enough to bust out twisting solos and leads yet still substantive enough for chords and rhythm work. Plus, the Pattern Thin neck reduces the guitar’s overall weight for a lighter, more balanced instrument that’s a breeze to handle and play. Essentially, Pattern Thin is the perfect choice for players who find themselves doing a little bit of everything.
