The VS-R264 is a powerful AV-over-IP streaming encoder and decoder. It simultaneously records, encodes, and decodes full 1920x1080p streams using H.264 Long GOP encoding with bitrates up to 30Mbits over standard networks, suitable for 100Mbps or 1Gbps. You can use it as an external standalone YouTube encoder, or stream HD video to a content delivery network like Wowza, Ustream, AWS Elemental MediaLive, or CloudFront. And the VS-R264 is a standalone unit — no computer is needed for recording or streaming.

Its balanced analog Euroblock/Phoenix low-voltage wire connectors and unbalanced analog 1/8" (3.5mm) mini-stereo jacks provide versatile audio connections for countless AV-over-IP applications, including corporate, education, house of worship, government, industrial, and security. Beyond that, audio can be embedded from analog sources and de-embedded to drive networked audio playback for ceiling speakers. The VS-R264 also provides digital audio embedded within its HDMI I/O. Plus, output level configuration and reference level switching functions (up to +20dBu) give you adaptable, reliable system structuring.

The VS-R264 offers compatibility with the full gamut of popular standard streaming protocols, including HLS, RTMP, RTP/RTSP, Multicast, and Unicast — all with RESTful APIs for integration into control systems in commercial AV installations. Want to record your stream? No problem. The VS-R264 can record directly to 17GB of Internal Storage or to an SD card loaded into its front-panel slot, or to USB-connected media. On top of that, recorded files can be automatically uploaded to an FTP server for reliable backup or for repurposing to the web.
