Dexibell’s Revolutionary Stage Piano

The VIVO S10 88-key digital piano represents the height of Dexibell’s modern achievements. Building on the revolutionary success of the VIVO S9, the S10 ups the ante with faster loading times and CPU speeds that offer that same unlimited polyphony at 24-bit and 48kHz for the most expressive, lifelike tones capable in a digital stage piano. You’ll also have 3.2 GB of wave memory, 100 organ presets and 180 sounds, and upgraded MIDI BLE 4.2. This groundbreaking stage piano/MIDI keyboard controller features motorized drawbar faders, four MIDI master keyboard zones, seven rotary encoders with elegant blue LED bars, and a hybrid wooden-key, weighted-hammer action with aftertouch. The ivory/ebony-touch keys feel amazing, and the motorized drawbar faders replicate the tactile experience of the world’s most renowned organs. The internal sounds — including exquisite concert grand and electric pianos; classic tonewheel, transistor, and pipe organs; vintage synths; orchestral instruments, and more — are nothing short of world-class.

Powered by Dexibell’s Advanced T2L (True to Life) hybrid sampling/modeling technology, the VIVO S10 delivers the realistic responsiveness of acoustic pianos and classic organs with stunningly lifelike sonics and virtually unlimited polyphony while enhancing the timbral accuracy and responsiveness relative to the dynamic articulation of the keyboardist. What’s more, the sounds are SoundFont-compatible, giving you access to thousands of additional downloadable sounds. Keyboard players at Sweetwater are blown away by the Dexibell VIVO S10. Experience it. You will be, too!

Deep interaction with the instrument

The audio quality of the Dexibell VIVO S10 is unquestionably stunning, but perhaps even more impressive is the interaction the pianist feels with the instrument. Every minute nuance of playing technique is channeled from your fingers through the newly developed TP-400W hybrid wooden-key, ivory/ebony-feel weighted-hammer action to the VIVO's sound engine. Dexibell's state-of-the-art CORTEX-Quadcore Advanced T2L technology then goes to work layering precise, articulate resonances to capture every subtlety of your interaction with the keys. It's all borne out by the sound you hear — creative feedback that inspires the next notes you play. After all: you play better when you sound great!

Masterful control and connectivity

The Dexibell VIVO S10 is a masterful stage piano, but when you're deploying an army of plug-ins and synth hardware, your keyboard controller is your command center. And the Dexibell VIVO S10 puts the controls right where you need them. The ample, grippy pitch-bend and modulation wheels are even ergonomically angled for instant, intuitive access. You're always status-savvy, thanks to the S10's enhanced user interface. Change patches, and the motorized faders automatically snap to their new positions, giving you an instant snapshot of your settings. The VIVO S10 also features 4 MIDI zones, seven rotary encoders, four pedal inputs, and MIDI In, Out, and Thru ports, as well as USB-to-Host and USB-to-Device.

320 oscillators, unlimited polyphony

The beating heart of the VIVO S10 is a powerful quad-core CPU capable of processing 320 digital oscillators — with four times faster loading times and two times CPU speeds. This massive oscillator arsenal provides for virtually unlimited polyphony and allows for the simulation of all elements of the tone, including the cabinet resonances and mechanical sounds such as damper and key-off that are characteristic of acoustic grand pianos, as well as the telltale noises of vintage tonewheel organs. Dexibell uses higher definition, 24-bit/48kHz (32-bit floating DSP and internal processing) as a sound wave format with 256 times more resolution than 16-bit audio, significantly improving both the VIVO S10's frequency response and dynamic range.

High-resolution Advanced T2L sound engine

In the Advanced T2L sound engine that drives the Dexibell VIVO S10, the recorded waveform length of each individual note is between three and 15 times longer than the typical digital piano. For example, a low note on the VIVO S10 has an original waveform length of 15 seconds, whereas most current models average between one and 5 seconds. This means that the tails of your piano notes are allowed to decay naturally without the unnatural looping that shorter samples require. The result? Thrillingly vibrant and realistic harmonics throughout the evolution of each sustained note.

How Dexibell upgraded the VIVO S10

With Dexibell boasting the VIVO S9 in its stage piano arsenal, you may wonder how the company could have made an already world-class stage piano even better. It all starts with adding more processing power and speed to the quad-core processor. The VIVO S10 holds 180 high-definition sounds and 100 organ presets ready to sing out in vibrant, detailed voices. Plus, Dexibell upped the DSP to 12 individual DSP for sound effects. Independently programmable outputs let you assign and address individual parts wherever you want them — like an organ to a secondary rotary speaker. Also, Bluetooth Audio and MIDI offer even more control with iOS device-compatible parameters through the VIVO Editor App or XMURE App. You'll never have a piano experience quite like the VIVO S10.

This thing is a beast!

Coming from a Roland RD-800 that I purchased from Sweetwater in 2014, this was a multi-generational upgrade with so many bells and whistles that I felt a little bit overwhelmed at first blush, but man, have I grown to love this wonderful piece of equipment!

The USP of Vivo S10 is the beautiful, intuitive layout and real time flow control you have over the wide arsenal of parameters that the board provides you with. Everything is at a hand's reach and with some clever programming, this board can pull off any series of tweaks and effects that you can imagine! Good engineering is differentiated from great engineering by this one factor - the only limit that the product has is your own imagination and curiosity.

The sliders on the left, provide real time mixing control (volume, reverb, TW Organ etc.) which is a must-have in a live setting especially when you have to load multiple presets. The 2 wheels, 9 sliders as well as the 4 pedals (only damper is provided with the unit) are all fully customizable and assignable to a whole host of parameters for controlling the layers that you have programmed in any given sound preset.

The drawbar organ simulation and parameters are decent and can be layered along with other PCM based samples for padding effects. Honestly not much of an organ player so ymmv, but whatever sounds I have gotten out of the board so far definitely has a lot more life to it than other boards I have played before. T2L Menu deep diving is also available for organs, I haven't mined that deeply yet.

Audio FX Chains are setup next with up to 3 parameters for each layer you have programmed in - Main, Lower, Couple, Pedal (the latter 3 can be setup with split points). I am a little bit unhappy with the amount of presets they have in the factory sound library - can you imagine what a true synth nerd can program with 4 layers and 12 FX parameters with fully customizable knobs and sliders? Mind blowing! Programming and menu deep diving is definitely encouraged, but the tiny TFT LCD screen can be a little off putting and laborious especially considering the amount of parameters you can tweak and control.

Having so much control at your fingertips is truly what I appreciate about this board. The sounds themselves are great off the bat but T2L tweaking definitely enhances the presentation as well as the timber of the pianos. I have cooked up some great sounding pianos by layering the platinum sounds available on the factory library, but I am going to update my sounds with more samples available for free from the website. The piano keybed itself is wonderful and renders itself very well to expressive piano techniques and fast phrases easily.

The only thing I truly wish for is a Korg Kronos-esque sized screen with a decent display (doesn't have to support touch) considering the number of parameters that are customizable and programmable. I guess Dexibell had to stick with the smaller screen in order to keep the keyboard within the budget range of their market.

Buy this board without any hesitation. It will take you years to fully unpack and unleash this marvel of engineering to its fullest sonic potential but its definitely a rewarding journey worth looking forward to!

I think it's a darling keyboard indeed.

I am new to the Dexibell world. It's been a learning curve like any new instrument. But Sweetwater has been very kind to help me figure out some of the nuances. I am finding that the more time I spend with this, the more I'm convinced it's the most impressive sounding keyboard I have ever owned by far.
I love the touch with the wooded keys.
Using it with my DAW has been a breeze.
The sounds are rich and pleasing.

I am looking forward to spending many hours enjoying this great instrument. The more I learn, the more I like it.
So we'll see how the future unfolds with this great Keyboard. I would recommend it to anyone who appreciates great quality.

Thanks again to the staff at Sweetwater for their professionalism and kind patience with me through the initial phase of learning

On Tour with Brian Culbertson

I'm only a fan and an audience member but I just saw Brian Culbertson play RVA in concert last night and he absolutely killed it on the Dexibell S10. It sounded fantastic as did the rest of his band. So there you have it ;)
Music background: Drummer, avid fan of all genres of music.
