The Amp That Launched the Diezel Legend

In a world full of high-gain guitar amp heads, the Diezel VH4 continues to sit comfortably at the top. The VH4 100-watt head was meticulously engineered to be the most flexible amp of its time, boasting enough player-friendly features to become the centerpiece of any player's rig. After decades on the market, the VH4's design still holds true. With four completely independent channels that range from sparkling clean to frightening levels of gain, there is no sound you can't get from the amp. With its multiple effects loop and MIDI-based switching, the VH4 easily earns its iconic reputation.

The Diezel legacy

It wasn't long after Diezel released their first tube guitar amplifier head that they started popping up behind some of the most influential guitarists in the world — not bad when your first design remains your flagship! Guitarists such as Tool's Adam Jones, Journey's Neal Schon, and Metallica's James Hetfield were all early adopters to this new breed of tight precision distortion. Today, Diezel has greatly expanded their line of top-tier amplification. Sweetwater couldn't be more proud to represent the quality and tone that is Diezel Amplification.

Four distinctly voiced preamp channels

When the VH4 was released, its four completely independent channels were revolutionary. Not only does every tone you need reside in the VH4's glowing tubes, but the whole sweep of each channel's gain control delivers thick, musical tones that can be used for any style or genre. That being said, it's the amp's third channel that has catapulted the amp to the upper echelon. Its balance of tight lows, articulate gain, and touch sensitivity has made it the go-to metal amp for countless players around the world.

Programmable flexibility

Not only does the VH4 100-watt head boast four channels, but each channel is riddled with features for customizing your tone to perfection. Each channel's individual effects insert allows you to place your choice of effects into each channel. Do you want a bit of compression on your cleans? Plug a compressor pedal into channel 1's insert. Do you want delay on your lead tone? Insert your favorite delay pedal in channel 4's insert. Global parallel and series effects loops integrate your other effects across the entire amp. And every sound you create can be saved and recalled via an optional MIDI switcher.

Diezel VH4 100-watt Guitar Amp Head Features:

  • Sonically flexible amp head with iconic high-gain tones
  • 4 channels cover a massive range of gain
  • Each channel boasts its own insert for effects
  • MIDI switchable
  • Global presence and deep controls dial your tone into your venue
  • 100 watts of EL34 tube tone
  • Thru jack allows you to slave multiple amps together
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items

Gotta Love Sweetwater
This Amplifier is hands-down the best piece of gear I have ever owned. Thanks to Sweetwater I was able to obtain it without having to jump through the many hoops that are present when having an item shipped from outside North America. Thank you Sweetwater!!!
My favorite metal amp
Anyone who dislikes the new version of this amp, I'm my opinion, doesn't like heavy sounds or is just being contrarrian, likely because of price. Its brutally expensive, but brutal sounding. When I riff on this thing with an ESP original or custom, I have to occasionally stop and say Wooooooo. Like Ric Flair, because I think I'm that good. Channel 1 is clean and lush, or can break up, Channel 2 is really good classic to hard rock tone, channel 4 sounds amazing to me also for its designed for, super distorted and saturated, or lead. You're not just buying channel 3, that was what I was worried about, not so. It's a little ridiculously expensive, but nothing like it I know of.

Worth every penny!!!
The price tag may shock you but once you've experience this head its hard to go back to others.
Music background: Rock, blues, classical
A true beast and workhorse
All four channels sound great. Having each channel have its own effects loop PLUS a global effects lop AND midi controllable is more than most will ever need. It really can do it all. Most amps that have more than two channels, usually have a sacrificial lamb that just sounds terrible. That is not the case with the VH4. It truly is worth the money

FULL SEND ON THIS SONIC BEHEMOTH!
I've had the VH4 for about a year and it is absolutely unbelievable, worth the price, and backs up all the hype. Big takeaways:
1. Can get all the great tones at room volume thanks to the amazing craftsmanship that connects the preamp to the power amp. No kidding, apartment / condo practice volume on channel 3, can play for hours with amazing tone and no harm to the ears.
2. This thing keeps the full range of guitars and pickups, standard Strat to drop C baritone, tight, punchy, and clear.
3. The single channel effects loops provide endless possibilities for tone freaks, and they are extremely easy to use.
4. MIDI is easy to set up and use.
5. Thing is built like a tank, all components are protected.
6. This hog will go ALL the way to 11 if you want it to, and it rips when it's hummin!

By nice so you don't have to buy twice. Worth every cent.
Music background: Play for my own entertainment.
