Streamlined Version of Diezel's Legendary Amp Head

The VH2 high-gain, all-tube amp head descends from Diezel's iconic VH4. Stripping away features that some players found too complicated with the original amp, the VH2 maintains the same wide-ranging tones and monumentally tight gain as its forebearer. As soon as you plug in, you'll recognize the clarity, muscle, and touch sensitivity that has cemented Diezel as one of the leaders in boutique amp design. Well known for its crystal-clean tones and savage distortion, the VH2 can also deliver studio-quality sound anywhere along the range of the gain control. When it comes to boutique high gain, it's hard to beat the Diezel VH2 100-watt amp head.

All the best of the VH4

There is no question about it. The Diezel VH4 is one of the truly lauded amp heads of the high-gain world — though some players find its four channels, four effects loops, and MIDI switching a little overwhelming. Diezel has been listening. Their response? The VH2 100-watt all-tube amplifier head. Diezel crammed all the tones of the VH4 into two easily controllable channels on this newer design. Channel 1 sweeps from completely clean to hard rock territory, while Channel 2 starts with drool-worthy high-gain Diezel tones and can take you totally over the top.

Stripped down for the needs of modern guitarists

The first acknowledgment that the VH2 is its own animal is the amp's simplified front panel. Taking the channel count down to two greatly simplifies your tone-searching process. You'll find the standard controls for gain, volume, treble, middle, and bass on each channel. And the amp boasts an incredibly transparent series effects loop but has eliminated the headaches that can accompany the VH4's multiple loops and MIDI switching. One powerful feature that remains is the footswitchable dual master volumes. Simply stomp the included 2-button footswitch to select your channels and get a volume boost to punch through the mix. Easy.

The Diezel legacy

After Diezel released their first tube guitar amplifier head (the VH4), it wasn't long before they started popping up behind some of the most influential guitarists in the world — not bad when your first design remains your flagship! Guitarists such as Tool's Adam Jones, Journey's Neal Schon, and Metallica's James Hetfield were all early adopters to this new breed of tight precision distortion. Today, Diezel has greatly expanded their line of top-tier amplification. Sweetwater couldn't be more proud to represent the quality and tone that is Diezel Amplification.

Diezel VH2 100-watt Guitar Amplifier Head Features:

  • High-gain amp head from the lineage of the iconic VH4
  • 2-channel design offers all of Diezel's legendary tones in a straightforward package
  • 100 watts pushed by a quartet of EL34 power tubes
  • Transparent-sounding series effects loop
  • 2 footswitchable master volumes offer on-the-fly volume boosts
  • 2-button footswitch included
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!

Reviews

Diezel VH2
It's exactly what I expected!!! This amp is one absolute unit of fun!! Does it all with excellence!! From crystal cleans, blues tones, classic rock tones, all the way To high gain mayhem! Worth every penny!
I love this amp
This amp is amazing, great cleans on channel 1, and channel 2 is super tight and chunky. What more can be said.
VH2 is Amazing Clean and Dirty
This amp is incredible. Channel 1 (based off of their Paul amp) goes from clean to crunch with just the turn of the dial (below 12 clean, above dirty). Maxed out its like a more open version of Channel 2 on the amp. Toss in a pedal (blues driver with gain set low) and it tightens up and sounds pretty close (not exact but close) to Channel 2 around 10 o'clock. The clean is fantastic, like one of the best I have heard. I like it around 11-1 or maxed out with my Les Paul volume rolled off. It cleans up so well with the guitar volume (hence the usefulness of maxing it out with a Blues Driver). This could be a 1 channel amp and I'd be fully happy just using the volume knob and a pedal.

But then there is Channel 2 and it is all that I would expect from Channel 3 of the VH4. Never played a VH4, but the VH2 gives me all I would have hoped for on the dirty side from a VH4. Add in the clean on channel 1 and you got the best of both worlds.

After all that. Just listen to the demo, if you like the Diezel webiste demo video, you won't be disappointed. Sounds as advertised.

And yes it does bedroom level/ T.V. volume (65-70dbs) amazingly (as noted in said video), without a touchy volume knob. It tappers nicely without a jump from quiet to loud.

If it wasn't 50lbs, it would be the only amp I'd need (with a 2x12 its not exactly a grab and go for short practice in the other room or down the street).

Blown away
I've had this for a few months now and it has become my favorite amp of all time. Greatest clean channel I've ever heard on a high gain amp and channel 2 is so incredibly disgusting in the best possible way.
Absolute fire
This amp is absolutely ridiculous, totally awesome! There"s not really much more to say, if you"re worried... wondering will actually it be worth it, the answer is YES! There is 0 way anyone can say this amp isn"t just incredible. No other amp sounds like this, simple as that. Only downside to this amp is that it"s pretty darn big and super heavy, mine doesn"t leave the house so that"s not an issue for me. But if you are looking to gig with this guy, after getting a solid road case for it, your 100% looking at a two man job to maneuver this bad boy around. Overall, there"s a reason why these Diezel amps are famous, one of a kind and super expensive, and its alllllll worth it.
