Reviews

Made for Metal
Special thanks to my sales rep, Jimmy Heart. These sticks were the best recommendation ever. They're solid, built to last, slightly longer than your average sticks & overall, made for Metal. Just after one day of using these sticks they completely changed the way that I play in a way that I didn't know that I needed. Thanks, Jimmy!
5a Extreme
Started using the "Ringo model"of Pro Mark sticks because of the lenth, wasn't a big fan of the tip (didn't sound right to me on the cymbals) found these Vic's about that same time and have not used another stick since. You need power? Flip them around, you want soft, chock up on them... Very versatile stick, they last a fairly long time until the bead starts to break down, after that firewood.

Best All Around Sticks
Really was surprised at how versatile these sticks are. Enough power for rock but can be used to play lighter, more subtle genres of music. Very well balanced for fast rolls and working over the kit, but sound nice on cymbals, too. If I were to pick one set of sticks to be my forever set, these would be it. Vic got it right with these.
New favorite
I used to use tree trunks for sticks, then went light -- too light. These are the perfect sticks for me at this point. They're just big enough to not feel like a dainty 5A, and feel as if they might have a more forward weighted balance to them, giving you the option of some real powerful strokes when needed. It's the best of both worlds in my eyes. I might use some heavier, more evenly balanced sticks on the practice pad occasionally, but when it comes to set, these are my go-to sticks now. If 5As feel too small but 5Bs and 808s are ripping your hands and wrists apart, or just too big in your hands, give these a go. And as with most Vic Firth sticks, the consistency and quality is always good. I buy them by the brick now.
