Infinium Tube Life Multiplier technology keeps your tubes healthy

It's a well-known fact that tubes wear out. Luckily, the Bugera V55HD Infinium guitar amp head's Infinium Tube Life Multiplier technology can greatly extend the lifespan of your tubes, saving you money and ensuring the integrity of your tone. This amazing technology actually monitors the performance of each of the amplifier's output tubes, and maintains them at their ideal operating point for an evenly distributed load. Also, an LED next to each tube lets you know when they're about to die, so you can anticipate issues before they cause problems.

Modern features provide you with a wide tonal palette

The Bugera V55HD Infinium guitar amp head is definitely not a one-trick pony. Featuring a 2-channel preamp, you have access to both clean and high-gain tones. You also get a classic-style 3-band EQ (bass, mid, and treble) with a presence control, allowing for plenty of sound-tweaking. Finally, normal and bright inputs let you match the V55HD Infinium to your electric guitar's tonal characteristics in order to optimize your tone.

Bugera Infinium 55

Very impressed with the quality of this product. Very nice cleans, and it's got a really nice Marshall crunch to it too which I was very surprised. Very usable amp either at home or gigging. Very easy to dial in.

Nice Tube Amp

This is a great amp for the casual player. Warm cleans and nice overdrive that even sounds good at low volumes. Loud enough to use in a small gig. I have reviewed the schematics and would need to see some other new amplifiers to compare if the build is robust. Reverb is a synth daughter board from what I see and sounds great. For the money, well worth it, especially if you are like me and are playing just for the enjoyment! Rock on.

Just a great sounding amp.

I could've written this review six years ago because I had the BUGERA combo V22 amp. I loved the sound of it but it was getting a bit heavy to lug around especially at 1 AM after standing for 3-4 hours and playing. Yes guess I gave away my age, so I set out to find a light amplifier. I tried the BOSS Katana sent that back. The SUPRA sent that back. Finally the QUilter Mach lll. I had to get the head and speaker separately I guess because of the supply chain. I had to get the speaker cabinet directly from QUilter. That didn't last to long either. I sent the head back but now I was stuck with the 1x12 cabinet. SO that led me to the Peavey classic 20 mini head which fit nicely on top of the QUilter Cab. I held on to the Peavey for to long and couldn't return it. It just wasn't the BUGERA. Why I bought it? I don't know. Maybe I had a flashback to my high school days when I bought the Peavey Mace because that's what SKYNYRD used. But anyway the Classic 20 wasn't doing it for me and I sold it privately and to make a long story long I finally got back the AMP I started with the BUGERA V22 head which doesn't sit so well on my speaker cabinet and weighs 11 pounds more than the Peavey Classic 20.

But that's ok because IMHO the clean sound of the BUGERA can't be beat at least with all the AMPS I tried in the $ 1000 and under dollar price range. Actually the MACH lll was about $1300> AS far as I'm concerned the old cliche about tube amps sounding warm does ring true and it's certainly evident in the V22. This may sound obvious but the 22 watts is plenty of power and can def. be played with a drummer. Don't forget comparing the wattage of a tube driven amp is totally different than a SOLID STATE amp and it does have line out incase you want to go through the PA system too. The reverb sounds pretty good and the three band EQ is nice feature. The footswitch is all metal and is well made making it easy to go between the clean channel and the dirty or high gain channel. You can also turn the reverb on and off from the foot switch. I do use the dirty channel. I find it usable but I do sometimes combine it with and overdrive pedal. The only pedals I use with the V22 are a chorus, overdrive and compressor.

A reputation and be hard to shake once established because I hear some negativity when it comes time to BUGERA amps. It bothers me none because all you have to do is play one and let your ears do the deciding. This head comes in at least $200 dollars less than the peavey and it's not to single out the PEAVEY it's just to say that this is a really good deal IMO.

Slightly Floored at Price to Performance Ratio

I got this amp recently with Sweetwater's $399 deal. It's a great deal at $599 but for 2 bills less, done deal. I've been researching this amp for about 6 months, as well as about 20-30 other amps, all makes, from 20-50 watts. I wanted a 6L6 powered head, which whittled down the competition and the videos of this head kept sounding so good. They stood up to other top notch amp heads, many boutique ones that were 2.5 - 3 times its price.
I've been playing for 30+ years, perform, record and release songs consistently. I've been using a Quilter Mini 101 for years, absolutely love it. Before that, I owned some old Bogen modded PA amp into heads (30, 50 and 100 watts). They all sounded fantastic, but one was always in the shop. Always. That's why I owned 3. Sometimes 2 would be in the shop. Annoying as all hell. I've played tons of other tube amps too (all names you've heard so I won't bore you).
Long story short, I've been playing this amp through my EV12L Thiele cab speaker and it's been nothing short of spectacular. I did replace all the tubes, even though the stock ones sounded **** good. I put in a pair of Tung-Sol 7581A power tubes, a GE 5751 5 star in V1, Sylvania 12AX7WA in V2 and a Sylvania 12AT7 in V3. It sounds fantastic. I have other 12AT7's I might try out but for now, I'll keep to this setup. I've played my custom tele, 88 Aria Pro II T50 (semi-hollow body) and 71 strat through it. They all sound excellent. Minor tweaks and they're dialed in. Les Paul still needs a spin with it. It also seems to handle pedals and other overdrives just fine, although the overdrive on this amp is so good, I can take out an overdrive pedal.
I need more time with this amp, but I gotta say, with the thousands of hours I've logged in with other amps, this one really surprised me and it's definitely a keeper. I tried out the Quilter 202OD a couple weeks ago, gave a weeks worth of playing and recording with it, but just couldn't feel it. It gets crazy good reviews but it just didn't have that thing. But THIS amp, it has what's needed. With the tube swap, this amp is a keeper. It's about longevity now. I'm looking forward to many years of recording and gigs (when they come back!!). Thank you for the KILLER deal, Sweetwater.

Unbelievable

Guys.....Im such a picky, discerning, scrutinizing wack job when it comes to tone. I've used and loved my Marshalls, Mesa Boogies, Fenders, Peaveys and Blackstars. When I tell you after 40 some years of playing pro and as a hobby, this thing tonally hangs with some of the best Tube amps. I had mine going on 5 years and I'm still waiting for the catch LOL. Why so inexpensive and sounds so great. Do not discount the overdrive of this amp. Its on par with the Marshall Origin but more saturation and roars like a *****. Its not extremely high gain, but it grinds!! The cleans are amazing... Lol. Gary Moore said it best back in 2011 before he left us....you do not have to spend big money in modern times for great sound.
