Great Little Attention Grabber! and OUTSTANDING Customer Experience!!

My twin grandsons received some kids plastic ukeleles for their recent 2nd birthday, and I tried tuning them and quickly realized it wasn't the same as a regular guitar. After researching how to properly tune one, I thought 'hmmmm -- if I got one as well, we could all learn eventually'. So after poking around, happened to come across this lil guy that looks exactly like a mini version of my entry-level Squire Strat -- so even though more expensive than an entry level 'all weather' uke, it'd match all my other Fender equipment.

What I wasn't expecting was the OUTSTANDING Sweetwater customer experience!! I received a call later that evening from someone at Sweetwater who confirmed my order, and asked about my musical interests, and gave me a little background on their whole approach to providing quality products and service. After 20 mins of chatting, he mentioned my order should arrive within 2 days, and to enjoy my purchase, and if there were any issues or questions not to hesitate contacting them for anything at all!!

The package arrived right on time, and within minutes of unpacking, I had it tuned (properly this time) and started strumming some chords I had just looked up. The uke sounds good -- and the tuner is higher quality than I expected: not just an LED 'E' indicator, it actually has the higher end graphical 'needle' indicator to help dial-in the pitches.

VERY PLEASED overall with both the product as well as the service!! Will DEFINITELY be using Sweetwater for all my future musical needs!!

Music background: Generally can strum some guitar chords, bang on some drums, and carry a tune.

Cute

The strat I've been playing for the past 25 years as my main instrument looks exactly like this, so I had to get it based solely on that. I'm not a uke player, but since getting it, I've learned a few chords and it's fun.

coolest looking uke ever made

This was something i knew i had to have as soon as i saw it. I waited months before it was finally in stock.
It's been a very good Uke for the most part. A couple gripes:

It does NOT sound good plugged in. There's an obnoxious buzzing in one of the strings. it's better to put a mic in front of the sound hole than use the built-in pickup. I don't know if this is something that can be fixed but it's a bummer.
The fit and finish is a bit lacking. there are wobbly lines in the binding and the fretwork is lazy, with some of the sharpest fret ends i've ever encountered on any instrument.

All in all, after 18 months, i'm still quite happy with the thing. My 14 year old boy loves it as well.
