Authentic Boutique Tones at Your Fingertips

The Tone King Imperial MKII is heralded as one of the best-sounding American-voiced guitar amplifiers in existence. Neural DSP's Tone King Imperial MKII Suite harnesses this otherworldly, tube-tinged sound and packs it into a true-to-life software plug-in. Like its real-world counterpart, the Tone King Imperial MKII Suite boasts a 2-channel design that tackles Cali-style cleans and tweed-style grind with equal assurance. Simple, yet effective, tone-shaping controls, plus an impeccably emulated spring reverb and bias-modulated tremolo make dialing in your core tone a breeze. You get a modeled reactive attenuator, iconic wah tones, three stompbox-style pre-effects, a 9-band graphic EQ, and a comprehensive cab-sim module for ultra-realistic mic'd cab sounds. You also get three post-effects for putting the perfect finishing touches on your sound. Any player reaching for world-class, boutique-style amp tones will be blown away by the Neural DSP Tone King Imperial MKII Suite — it delivers the venerated sound you've heard on countless rock, country, and blues recordings.

Note: This product requires that you have an iLok account for authorization, although it does not require a physical iLok key. Please call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have questions.

Two channels of legendary boutique tones

The Tone King Imperial MKII Suite is a dead ringer for the real-world amplifier, right down to its channels and control set. Its Rhythm channel delivers a gorgeous clean tone with an infectious warm breakup at cranked volumes. Its Lead channel yields an authoritative throatiness that you can soften with the amp's Mid-Bite control. The Tone King Imperial MKII Suite also includes an emulated Ironman II Reactive Attenuator, which allows you to not only maintain the same perceived volume, but also achieve tonal variations via power amp saturation. An HF Comp switch compensates for lost high frequencies when you deploy the attenuator. To top it off, the Tone King Imperial MKII Suite includes spot-on emulations of the real-world amplifier's bias-modulation tremolo circuit and tube-driven spring reverb, which are essential to harnessing the amp's vintage-tinged goodness.

Three stompbox-style pre-effects and more

With the Neural DSP Tone King Imperial MKII Suite in your plug-in folder, you'll gain more than an amplifier; you'll get an entire guitar rig. The guitarists here at Sweetwater are especially impressed by this software's pre-effects. These three stompbox-style modules (Compressor, Overdrive-1, and Overdrive-2) enable you to cop many classic tones — no extra processors required. With subtle settings, Compressor adds girth and sustain to leads; with extreme settings, it achieves hyper-squashed chicken pickin' without breaking a sweat. Overdrive-1 and Overdrive-2 give you everything from subtle boost to traditional OD saturation. The Tone King Imperial MKII Suite includes a 9-band EQ for fine-tuning your overall frequency response, along with BBD-style chorus, plus immersive Delay and Reverb post-effects. To top it off, you get a wah effect that works both with a MIDI expression pedal and in auto-wah mode.

A comprehensive cab-sim module

As great as the Tone King Imperial MKII sounds, it needs a killer speaker cab to really do it justice. The Tone King Imperial MKII Suite takes this fact into account with a comprehensive cab-sim module with hundreds of ear-grabbing IRs crafted by 5by5 Studios. You get eight virtual microphones, including an AKG C414 B-ULS and a Sennheiser MD409-U3, that you can move around the speakers until you nail the sound you're aiming for — just like you would in a physical recording studio. On top of that, the Tone King Imperial MKII Suite allows you to load your own IR files for maximum versatility.

Outstanding
Absolutely the best guitar amp plugins I've ever heard or used! Neural has a 14 day full demo trial on their site so I recommend trying them out. I doubt you would be disappointed. Don't let the cost hold you back. Worth every penny.

surprised
Ok I am a grey head! Cash and Tube amps are king...... To say I am suprised is an understatement. I do alot of studio work as a producer. I provide most of the guitar tracking. I have not put 57' in front of a cabinet since downloading 2 Neural Dsp plug in's. Only complaint is Sweetwater needs to add the Neural full catalog to their offering!
