Terrific floor monitors

Using these as floor monitors for our gym Sunday service setup. Ease of setup and use is as straightforward as you can get. They sounded great out of the box and had plenty of headroom to overcome the ambient noise in our very square, concrete and steel box of a room in which we find ourselves each week.

Great Budget Speaker

As the title says, this is a great budget speaker. Very manageable weight, easy to move and load with the four handles. Solid design and construction. Got a pair to use as wedges and was pleased to find there are feet on both sides. When used as wedges they can be set to face both directions. Nice feature imo. Good venting for the power section. These were used for an all day outdoor event (8+ hrs with temps in the mid to high eighties all day) and did not run hot at all. No breakdown in sound at any time. The speakers were placed at each end of the stage for maximum coverage with some other boxes in the middle.

Sound: These sound good for music play back and very good for live sound vocals. Not as high-fi as top shelf Mackie's but that is expected in this price range. With gain set to unity (12:00) and volume set to unity (12:00) they were a touch soft on the outdoor stage. With gain set to unity and volume bumped to 3:00 they sounded clean and strong considering no boundary support. No one complained about not being able to hear their vocals on stage all day. Very satisfied with these speakers.

As always my sales guy Mitch Dazey helped me pick the right product for my needs and budget. Always a pleasure to work with Mitch. Also, received them faster than expected. Well done once again Sweetwater.

Music background: Long time giging musician & music enthusiest

Great way to start!!

So I purchased 5 of these after Behringer discontinued the speakers I had already ordered. The Mackie being a bit more expensive with reported less wattage but with NO DSP which is exactly what I wanted. Being a professional FOH/MON engineer I have used just about every manufacturer at some point, budget was the biggest factor because I needed to purchase a complete system. The Mackie Thrash hit the market just in time to save the day!!! These have been pushed because I've done Bluegrass, Acoustic, Country, Heavy and Death Metal. In the end the vocals may have been crushed by shear volume, I've never seen a Clip or Heard a crackle. Inside and outside they've not let me down. These will become my monitors as I'm looking at some new tops to Rise Above the Extremes of Death Metal!

Thrash!!!

Name says it all. These speakers sound great and have the range I was hoping for . Great with its most favourable sub, to deliver power and clarity.

Luv it

I got this idea one day...wondered if would work with my samsung smart tv...plugged in my alto total bluetooth (leaving 6 foot charge cord plugged in), and paired it with tv (didnt think it would) and holy kow !!! Can rattle my windows & whole house with clarity !!! Friend of mine has a bose system paid thousands for and this speaker sounds as good in my opinion and his...and...it doesnt even get hot after being on all day like other cheap pa speakers i've had....so this mackie found new home with tv...once again is great service dealing with sweetwater....they have the customer service beat anywhere...God Bless...
