A Unique Tele from a Unique Artist!

The Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster solidbody electric guitar answers the question: What would you get if you blended a vintage '40s-era lap steel guitar with an early '50s Tele? With an extra deep "U"-shaped neck and unique body-mounted bridge pickup, this signature instrument certainly isn't a normal Tele. The big neck on the Fender G.E. Smith Tele is adorned with a custom lap-steel inlay pattern and the bridge is a custom "cut-off" style with three vintage brass saddles. This unique guitarist has played with the likes of Dylan and Bowie, and the Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster reflects his uniqueness!

Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Fat "U"-shape neck is perfect for fans of larger vintage necks
  • Body-mounted pickup gives you more volume before feedback
  • Vintage Tele pickups give you classic Fender tone
Fat "U"-shape neck is perfect for fans of larger vintage necks

The Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster boasts one of the fattest necks you'll find on a Tele, vintage or modern. The thick "U"-shape neck will appeal to players that prefer larger '50s-style necks. Many players claim a thicker neck enhances sustain and gives you a darker, fuller tone than thinner necks provide - plug into your favorite amplifier with the G.E. Smith Telecaster and you be the judge!

Body-mounted pickup gives you more volume before feedback

On the Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster, the bridge pickup is mounted directly to the Tele's body instead of to the bridgeplate. It's a common mod amongst Tele players, and many claim it allows you to achieve louder volume levels before feedback.

Vintage Tele pickups give you classic Fender tone

While this is a unique take on the classic Telecaster, the tone is pure Fender all the way through. A pair of Vintage Telecaster single-coil pickups give the G.E. Smith Telecaster all of the chime and growl you expect from a Telecaster.

Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:
  • Signature Tele designed with help from G.E. Smith (Bob Dylan, Hall & Oates, SNL)
  • Fat "U"-shape neck maintains the same thickness all the way through (doesn't taper towards the nut)
  • Body-mounted bridge pickup allows more volume before feedback
  • Dual Vintage Telecaster single-coil pickups give you classic Tele tone
  • Vintage-size fret wire completes the old-school feel

Play a unique Tele - the Fender G.E. Smith Telecaster!
