Asuka Strikes!
Are you a Neon Genesis Evangelion devotee? If so, throw on your plugsuit and ensure that your headset is in place — then you’ll be synched and ready to rock out on Fender’s Evangelion Asuka Telecaster. This anime-themed solidbody electric guitar boasts a balanced-sounding alder body, easy-playing rosewood fingerboard, and ultra-articulate Alumitone pickups. A 6-saddle string-through-body bridge offers spot-on intonation and near-infinite sustain, while deluxe sealed tuners ensure rock-solid tuning stability. The Evangelion Asuka Telecaster includes an Asuka-influenced paint job, Evangelion Unit-02 fingerboard inlay, interface headset-inspired nut, and an edition-number-engraved custom neckplate with a NERV logo. Slick-looking matte-finished black parts tie it all together. The Fender Evangelion Asuka Telecaster is a must-have for guitar and anime collectors, Neon Genesis Evangelion fans, and anyone in search of an eye-grabbing instrument.
Alumitone pickups boast a low-resistance, noise-free design
The Evangelion Asuka Telecaster is equipped with two Alumitone pickups, a humbucker in the bridge and a single-coil in the neck. Not only do these mechanical-looking pickups enhance the Evangelion vibe of this solidbody electric guitar, thanks to their low-resistance, noise-free design, they produce crystalline clear tones and ultra-defined overdriven tones, even in high-gain situations. The Evangelion Asuka Tele’s Alumitones yield more low end than a conventional pickup, along with accentuated mids and measurably higher output. Alumitones exhibit a wide-band, almost hi-fi sound, yet they’re teeming with character — there’s nothing sterile about them.

Comfortable U-shaped neck and easy-playing rosewood fingerboard
Some players like skinny necks, others prefer thicker necks. Thanks to its substantial U-shaped neck, the Fender Evangelion Asuka Telecaster is aimed squarely at the latter camp. Many players claim that a thicker neck enhances sustain and gives you a darker, fuller tone than thinner necks provide. Plug the Evangelion Asuka Telecaster into your favorite amplifier and you be the judge! What’s more, this solidbody electric guitar features an easy-playing 9.5-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard with 22 narrow-tall frets. Bend a note or two on the Evangelion Asuka Tele, and you’ll be hooked. When we test drove this attention-grabbing axe here at Sweetwater, we had a hard time putting it back in its case (which is included, by the way).
A bevy of eye-grabbing Evangelion-themed appointments
Every detail of the Evangelion Asuka Telecaster is a call-out to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Most obvious is its Asuka Langley Soryu-inspired paint job, which includes a gradient color that mimics Asuka’s plugsuit, with black parallel lines on the back. The guitar’s pickguard is colored in red, green, and black to match. The Evangelion Asuka Tele’s synthetic red bone nut is styled to resemble Asuka’s interface headset, while an Evangelion Unit-02 fingerboard inlay offers a cool visual accent. You also get an edition-number-engraved custom neckplate with a NERV logo. To top it off, the Evangelion Asuka Telecaster’s certificate of authenticity is adorned with a graphic of the Second Child herself, drawn by Rebuild of Evangelion director Kazuya Tsurumaki.
